Auburn DT Nick Fairley to Enter the 2011 NFL Draft
Auburn DT Nick Fairley announcing today he will enter the NFL draft
Another shocker out of Auburn, Nick Fairley will enter the 2011 NFL Draft. There is a pretty good chance that if Fairley does well at the NFL Combine, his pro day and interviews he will be the #1 overall pick. Carolina, who has the first pick, just hired Ron Rivera. He has run both a 3-4 and a 4-3 in his career but said in his introductory presser that he plans on running the 4-3 with the Panthers. Fairley has proven he is a stud at DT in the 4-3.
It would be really nice to see Fairley on the board at #8, but that isn't going to happen. Odds are Fairley will be taking his dirty talents to Carolina. This does increase the odds that Marcell Dareus will still be on the board when the Titans pick. While DT isn't the biggest need the Titans have, it was very apparent in 2010 that they could use some more bulk in the middle of the defensive line.

Call me the driver of the Marcell Dareus bandwagon
If he is available at #8 and the Titans don’t draft him I might yell at my TV.
Go Titans! Go Magic!

I'd be pretty happy with Dareus at #8
Wouldn’t be unhappy with Mallet. Definitely my the top two on my wish list.
Of course, if by some crazy chance Farley drops to us I will get very very excited
My last two signatures were about Vince Young and Rusty Smith. I'm sure as hell not giving Collins room down here. So this will be my signature until the Titans show me something signature worthy.
But I digress, GO TITANS!
Just say no to Mallett

Thank You Kind Sir!
Hey Look, a One line Signature.

The QB opinions on MCM are all over the place :P
Some people hate all the incoming prospects, some people think this is a really strong QB class, and everyone has their favorites. I can’t say I’d be excited about Mallet, but I definitely wouldn’t be disappointed.

i dont think anyone thinks this is strong QB class in terms of star power, but it is strong in legitamate NFL prospects at the QB position

really? who thinks that?
Seems like there are mixed opinions at best on Newton, Mallett, Dalton, and Gabbert. No way this is a strong class of legitimate prospects.

did you read my comment
this QB class LACKS start power meaning I would not place money on any of these QBs ever being an all-pro(i woun’t say no pro-bowls since i am one injury from being sent to the pro-bowl). But a qb does not have to be an all-pro to be considered a legitimate NFL prospect or to even have a nice career. The reality is you may see as many as 5(more likely 4) qbs taken in the first round. Do you think a team is going to take a non-NFL legitimate QB in the 1st round?
Don’t turn my opinion into something it’s not…

this is definitely not as strong of a class as last year was
if everything works out, it’s still a mixed bag of prospects.
Get 'em.

Meh, I'll pass on Fairley.
I like DT’s that are aggressive, not just plaint dirty like Fairley. You know if the SEC refs have to warn him ahead of a game about driving the QB into the ground, he’d be fined/ejected/suspended every time you turned around in the NFL for it. I say we get Dareus at #8.
What? A girl can't like AND understand football?
Shoot, I live in the South where that just comes with the territory!
dirty
whatever. titans are such gentleman along the line that Fairley would definitely downgrade them in character.
dont choose Fairley. For the integrity of the team…dont choose a hugely disruptive tackle
while we are at it. Mr. Marks is a product of the evil empire of barn
cut him.
Thumbs up to Fairley
I don’t think I’ve seen many tackles that would fit the Wasburn mold better. I must admit it helped that Oregon never bothered to block him.

I think Dareus could be just as good as Fairley
he can play every spot on the line and is equally adept at rushing the passer and stopping the run
Get 'em.
