Oakland Raiders vs. Tennessee Titans Game Notes
As I mentioned yesterday the broadcast team for Sunday's opener between the Raiders and Titans will be Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts. The game will be on CBS as all non prime time intra-AFC games are. A note for the Nashville people, keep in mind that the games will be on 104.5 this year instead of 103.3.
The Titans are 26-24 all-time in season openers. Jeff Fisher is 9-6.
50 years ago this weekend the Houston Oilers and Oakland Raiders met on the inaugural weekend of the AFL with the Raiders winning 37-22. The Raiders lead the all-time series 27-18 and have won all 4 times the teams have met in the playoffs. The Titans are 14-11 at home in the series.
The last time the Raiders came to LP Field was October 28, 2007 in a game the Titans won 13-9 (box score). In that game Vince Young threw for 42 yards- and the Titans won!

Luckily
Since its the Raiders who still have a solid fan base in Southern California…my local CBS station is playing this game so I won’t have to go to the bar!
USC > UT (Both of them)
I'll be listening to Mike, Frank and Larry
CBS in Birmingham rarely shows the Titans. Instead, though we are only 3 hours from Nashville, we have to watch the Bengals vs. Patriots.
Does CBS central choose which games they show, or the local affiliates? I think we may have a yankee running the local station.
It's complicated.
an NFL team’s home market is required to air all that team’s games, unless a home game is blacked out.
Secondary markets for a team are required to show all the AWAY games, but are not required to show the home games at all.
Generally, anything outside the home city, but within 75 miles, is a secondary market.
Birmingham is more than 75 miles from any NFL team (and is actually closer to Atlanta than Nashville), so the local affiliate can usually pick whatever regional game they want.

If he'd just pay me what he's spending to make me stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him.
