Tennessee Titans Morning Links: It's Been Raining Down In Tennessee, Honey, So Long I Got Too Heavy To Fly Edition
Kenny Britt capped a horrendous preseason with his worst performance yet. Dropped passes, mental lapses and terrible body language don't create the kind of momentum we'd hoped for heading in to the season. Britt is being honest and open about his struggles, and at this point he sounds like a baseball player in the midst of a long slump at the plate. I'm starting to worry if he's beating up on him self too much, and that's what's stopping him from getting some of the momentum it takes to regain confidence on the field.
Today's Jam is a guy I'm almost certain I've featured before, but it's what I'm feeling today: Ryan Adams and The Cardinals performing an expanded live version of Magnolia Mountain. Like the kid or not, one thing is undebatable: Ryan Adams is the greatest singer songwriter of any generation to get Ménière's Disease. Also, if this Whiskeytown reunion ever actually happens, I may drop off the grid and follow that show on the road.
The special teams coverage and protection units struggled mightily at times last night as the team used a lot of rookies in positions they weren't familiar with. I wouldn't read much into it.
Follow us through the jump for more links...
Every back on the roster had some big plays in last night's match, and that only made the choices for tomorrow's roster cuts harder on the staff. The Blount/Gado debate continues to go on, though I'm firmly in Blount's corner at this point.
Gerald McRath ended last night's game with an interception in the end zone, but now he's going to have start his four game suspension for a failed PED test. McRath better be using that time to improve, because this team will need him to be better than ever the minute he steps back on the playing field.
Week two opponents The Pittsburgh Steelers lost Byron Leftwich last night to a torn MCL, so they will be down to starting Dennis Dixon while Roethlisberger is suspended (even though it was reduced to 4 games this morning) for almost certainly being a rapist.
Canal Street Chronicles recapped the game from the other side of the coin.
Have a great weekend, and be sure to tune in tomorrow while we cover the roster cut-down!

Yep
This version from a couple years before is much tighter all around. The lead starting around 4:10 is much cleaner.
If you like live Zep, the album How The West Was Won is excellent.
If by tired you mean 'on crippling amounts of heroin'
then yes.

So that means 2 RBs
that were supposed to be big contributors were lost for the year last night. Better not cut Blount.

"What if I was Peyton Manning?"- CJ to the ref after they picked up a personal foul flag for a late hit on him.
No one has said it
I can just see them falling in love with a veteran.

I like Blount...
when he’s running…not punching.

yea tough news for lendale....
also are you guys going to get a yahoo football pick em going this year??
Every once in a while....
you pick up a sleeper in the draft…this year?….it was Mariani. This kid is going to be special, book it. There was one player though, that I had high hopes for…Robert Johnson…and I literally have not heard one word about him. Can someone fill me in, please?
he's played pretty well
but in all honesty none of the safeties behind the starers have been that impressive. Schommer has had some good games, but even he has been uneven.

Do you think he'll survive tommorrow?

Raiders are dinged up
Bush out for the first game and more.
Campbell is also banged up (and he will get hit plenty in 9 days if the preseason is an indication of the beastliness of Jones, et al.).
I was a bit worried about this game since the Raiders had talent, drafted well, and got a real QB, but without Bush their running game is a bit more predictable and Campbell may be a little contact shy, resulting in plenty of harmless check downs.
Yeah, the Titans are the last team you want to play...
if you’re “contact shy”…with the way our D-Line has been playing.

My question is...
what would his punishment have been if he were a regular guy, and not a starting QB in the NFL?

On his 1st offense maybe...but...
didn’t he have 3 or 4 incidents?

not sure how legitimate it is but it could explain where Britt’s head may be right now.
