VIDEO: McCourty vs Verner. Replay of all of their plays. Who should start?

Take a look and see if this changes your opinion on who should start. Vid starts with McCourty plays then ends with Verner's plays.

My observations...
1. McCourty has been in more plays but it's tough because I think it's too early to get a consensus that qb(s) are not throwing to Verner's side.
2. There has been talk that McCourty has more "long" speed than Verner; however, McCourty has been beat deep on two occasions and I didn't necessarily see "closing" speed.
3. Verner didn't look all that great on the goal line plays in the Cardinals game.
4. Both seem to be steady tacklers unlike Rod Hood.
5. Keep in mind that Finnegan gets burned sometimes too. Cornerback is becoming one of the hardest positions to play.

You would need to see a lot more film then just the few plays they were thrown at or made a tackle.

You would need to see the plays that they were not thrown in their direction. Unfortunately, only the coach’s tape will show that.

On Leinart’s deep pass, if McCourty had turned around he could have easily picked that one off.
Verner: great open field tackle to get the running back down who looked to turn the corner.
Fisher seemed pumped up when Verner picked it off.
it’s gonna be a tough decision.

I cant decide!
I assume McCourty will get it simply because he has a year under his belt, but if ATV has a stellar final preseason game, im not sure how you can deny him the spot.
