Battle of the Backups
As you may know, the Titans are going to have to decide where to cut off some slack soon. And one of the most difficult places to decide that is going to be at the halfback position. Chris Johnson is in. You'd have to be under a rock six feet underground not to know that. But what about the other athletes competing for the spot?
First off, we've got our newest addition, Samkon Gado. He's got great vision, the speed to quickly get through the holes in the defense that he sees with that vision, and a knack for finding the endzone. He seems to break out of tackles like no tomorrow. Undoubtedly he's all power, but also showed some good finesse when breaking free of some of Arizona's tackles.
Next up is LeGarrette Blount, who surprisingly, didn't throw any haymakers out there today. Though it probably wasn't neccesary, as he was throwing something else out there on the field. That would be the opposing defenders. He stormed through defenders with power and speed, and showed an impressive burst upfield, catching most of the defenders off-guard. He also showed some good vision out there as well. One thing he didn't seem to have, however, was that instinct of knowing when to turn upfield and try to get extra yardage. But then again, Reggie Bush of the superbowl champion Saints has that same exact problem, so not having the mindset to turn upfield doesn't mean Blount can't contribute. Safe to say that he showed the coaches that he has what it takes to compete with Gado for a spot on the roster.
Also in the mix is Javon Ringer, who was mainly unseen during the last season, but showed up to compete last game against the Seahawks. He showed impressive speed and some good vision, and made some big plays. He wasn't seen much tonight, but with the amount of players that the Titans are trying to see on the field, it's understandable.
Last but.. maybe least, is poor poor Alvin Pearman. He saw a limited number of snaps tonight, and showed about what you'd expect of him as of late. Average power, a bit of speed, and average vision. He may be a decent back, but with the athletes he's running against (figuratively and literally), he might not see another snap as a Titan. But that's all speculation until the final call of who's in and who's gone.
Stafon Johnson, who could probably have a Blind-Side-esque movie made about his troubles, isn't worth putting up on the list tonight, as he's not going to be back until possibly late this season (At least that's Fisher's optimism), maybe not at all this season, maybe not at all as a Titan. So, as a question mark with a torn ankle, he's obviously not going to be in any talks about runningbacks making the roster.
So, I'm asking you guys and gals... Who do you think will make the cut, and where will they be on the depth charts at the end of the preseason? And most importantly of all, if the nightmare of CJ being out for a few games becomes a reality... who'll be our backup?

S.Johnson
can NOT come back at all this season. He is on IR.
Blount did well, and we saw a lot more of him last night then we did in the Seattle game. He just needs to learn to not dance in the backfield. 1 or 2 or 0 yards is better than -1.
Ringer seems to be the shoein for the official backup.
Pearman will be cut.
Gado did very well, considering he’d only been on the team for what, 3 days?
I say the battle probably comes down to Blount vs Gado.
I like Gado
as the best form ever of SMASH & DASH with CJ & Gado!
MNF
looks like Gado is the 3rd RB. Blount might be heading to the practice squad and gets signed by other teams.
"We take pride in running the football here". - Eugene Amano, C
why have a retread as the 3rd RB over a young back with potential?
With Gado, it’s kind of what you see is what you get. Blount showed something Monday night, and let’s remember. before the infamous punch, he was projected as a back that wasn’t gonna make it past the 3rd round. as you said, Pinoy, what he did monday did not go unnoticed by other teams; he will not make it to your practice squad.
IMPEACH DOLAN!!!!
My perdiction
Gado gets cut and never sees the 53 man roster. Blount has more upside once he gets use to running in a pro style offense and out of the I formation.
