So Titans' brass. I see you've been looking through my old MCM posts for a little bit of juice over the other great minds of coaching. Ding, you think I wouldn't notice you casually adopting the pistol offense in a preseason game? Here's what I'm thinking went down: after trolling through all my comments and fanposts you found this seminal piece from January 18, 2008, "Pistol (no this isn't about pac)"

and realized it was about time the Titans lined up correctly. Especially given that my recommendation came pre-CJ--who brings unimaginable lethality to shotgun or pistol.
And while we're speaking of CJ. I'll take the credit now for scouting him. This one goes out as an open call to the internet. Someone find me anything linking the Titans to CJ from before this post on September 19, 2007:

I had the Titans choosing 30th in the 2008 draft (even though the season hadn't started), questionably said they would draft an RB even though they had taken White and Henry in the past two years, and rec'd a guy that literally no one had as a first-round prospect:
"The real question is what's up with East Carolina's Chris Johnson? He runs a 4.2 forty!"
At the time I asked for him to prove himself more and suggested the Titans draft somebody small with good vision (which ended up being CJ--as the country had seen long before the Boise St game).
So what? Is this an overblown I told you so? Is it a plea for a position within the Titans' FO? Nope. Simply announcing my candidacy as a first-ballot MCM hall of famer.
Thank you for your consideration.
(I'm sure some of you with long memories will recall my retirement. For those of you who don't, I was furious that the Titans didn't do everything humanly possible to move up in the second round and take Desean Jackson. Especially after they already had CJ. My beef was with Jason Jones, whom I saw as a big body with a small body of work. Now, I can admit I was wrong. Jones is a beast. 2008 was a phenomenal draft. Even if the Craig Stevens pick does still hurt.....Man, really imagine VY, CJ and DJax on the same field and you get a sense of how frustrated several of us were at the time.)
