Tennessee Titans Morning Links: Waiting For Morgan Edition

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Check-out the conversation Jimmy and I had about the state of the Titans as we look forward to the opening of training camp on Saturday. These chats should be a lock for every Wednesday at 9:00 pm Central time.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Last night we talked about the importance of getting Derrick Morgan signed and in camp, and now comes the news that both parties are working on doing just that. The fact that Morgan is unsigned is par for the course since most other 1st rounders remain unsigned. You'll see the number of 1st rounders who sign skyrocket over the next few days though, as teams across the league start their own training camps.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 The Jeff Fisher Show has been a fixture at Opry Mills mall for years now, but with the mall still closed down after water reached the ceiling in the May flood the show has been moved to the Wildhorse Saloon on 2nd Avenue. East Nashville resident and sideburns aficionado John Dwyer will continue to host.

Follow us through the jump for more!

Star-divide

Tennessee_titans_30x21 I mentioned the possibility yesterday after Paul K started to connect the dots, and Pola has confirmed that the possibility of a lockout next year was a significant factor in his decision to make the move to USC.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Will Witherspoon is the latest installment of Paul K's Early Influence series.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Houston Texans WR David Anderson took his shoot at doing stand-up a few nights ago, and I have to say the results aren't bad at all. I'd highly encourage watching it (NSFW language) if for no other reason than the great digs at the Texans' futility that are sprinkled in throughout.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 NFP has 15 mid-round players you should target as fantasy football starts to heat up. Nary a Titan to be found.

When are they looking to reopen Opry Mills?

& if its not by end of Oct, where can I go to shop for Titans stuff? We always hit a WalMart for little crap, but for nicer gear, we always went to Opry. Duno anywhere else in N’Ville to go.

& when ur from another team’s territory, its real cool to go into stores & see all the Titans merchandise. Up here I’m surrounded with Bungals, Browns & Steelers junk. So walking into a store & seeing Titans stuff everywhere is a nice change of pace!!

You can

always get good gear at Dick’s Sporting goods too. There is a store in Cool Springs as well (can’t recall its name) that has a nice selection as well. It is next to an Office Depot.

yeah, Sports Seasons is the best, most reasonable place.

And I know Opry Land is scheduled to open by Christmas, I imagine Opry Mills will have a similar time frame.

everyone acts like opryland was the greatest thing since sliced bread

that place had 3 good rides and a bunch of lame shows and was more expensive(at the time) than any of the 6 flags parks

Screaming Delta Deamon

The Hangman, Chaos, The log flume, Grizzly River Ramapge… hell, they even repackaged the Hangman into that god-awful public sculpture between the river and LP Field. Opryland was awesome, and it it was local. I still miss it.

It was a helluva lot greater than what we have now, which is what? NOTHING!

And a far greater than any damn mall! As Nashville needed another anyway!

I knew this would start a small ruckus

I still stand by what I said though

Yep.

Eagles (and, to a lesser degree, Steelers) gear in my neck of the woods.

Wildhorse Saloon

is probably the most vivid memory of my lone visit to Nashville about 10 years ago (aside from the Opry Hotel, and seeing the Coliseum from afar). Good times!

It's official.

David Anderson is a funny dude. Get the man a late-night show on NFL Network.

If I hit a hole-in-one on this grand slam the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

I lost it when he compared the Texans to the Washington Generals
