Where is the love?
I am new to the MCM blog, so it is possible that I missed this, but where is the love for Kevin Mawae? He did some pretty great things for the Titans, and I havn't seen much discussion about his departure. Mawae has always been one of my favorite players, so I can't help but wonder why someone that has been such a solid player at providing outstanding protection doesn't get much chatter.

We love him, but there's not much going on there right now.
We’ve talked about him several times, mostly at the beginning of the offseason, and we’ll miss him, he’s a great player and by all accounts a good guy.
But he’s been gone for months, and I haven’t seen much in the way of news about him lately.
Also, his continued stance that he hasn’t gotten a job with a new team because he’s being blackballed for being the union president and not because 1) he’s in his late 30’s and 2) he has been injured the last couple of seasons; sounds a little like paranoid rambling to me.
Oh, Ok
I still think he could play, and if any center in the league gets hurt, I would think he would be at the top of the list of people to bring in. I hope he finds something.

I think he's not getting hired due to his position in the NFLPA

THIS IS THE WORST DECISION OUR FRONT OFFICE MADE THIS YEAR
By not signing my Favorite Center of all time. Now we have a limited CJ1K, no RB Coach, & LeRoy Harris to start at C with no MAWAE at all.
For the Titan’s sake, it better be because he is too injured/ old. Kevin better not suit up in a different jersey in 2010-2012; even if Kevin is 39. & Harris better be able to play at C/G!
This is where one needs to insert a cruel comment about Fisher, the entire F.O., & our upcoming season.

Harris isn't playing C
Keep up there

So much emotion over these old ass players
We haven’t won a playoff game in seven years something has to change and it’s usually not going to be the 24 year olds with upside.
"Oh, you should never, never doubt what nobody is sure about." Gene Wilder - Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
While that may be true to some
That upside can turn into downside very quickly if he can’t protect the QB or get the push he needs for the RB. The “old ass players” have the experience to know where the block needs to be, and how the carrier thinks due to playing with them for so long it becomes second nature. I hope the new guy meets and exceeds the expectations of the fans. But know that if he misses a block that he should easily make and something happens to VY or CJ, the new guy will be roasted daily. Mawae has a couple of seasons left in him, and I feel that he should have stuck around in order to really mentor the youngster taking his place.

I think the reason why you haven't heard much about Mawae is....
our O-Line is probably our strongest unit on the team in terms of depth….so….most of the chatter has been about the D and improving it for this year. I’m sure the reason other teams haven’t picked him up YET is cuz of his age.
