Somewhere Earnest Byner is having a good laugh. You might remember that Byner was the Titans running back coach last season and was fired for pretty much no reason this offseason so Jeff Fisher could hire Kennedy Pola. Well Pola, before ever actually coaching a game with the Titans, has left the team to become Lane Kiffin's offensive coordinator at USC.
And I know this will come as a shock to everyone who is familiar with Kiffin, but he went about poaching Pola in an unprofessional manner:
So I am very disappointed in the lack of professionalism on behalf of Lane, to call me and leave me a voice mail after Kennedy had informed me he had taken the job. It is just a lack of professionalism."
[Ed. Note:] The above quote is taken from the Jim Wyatt article in the Tennessean that is linked above.
I guess turnabout is fair play..
This leaves the Titans without a running backs coach a week before they are set to head into camp. Someone get Eddie on the phone.
