Tennessee Titan Morning Links: Your Mom Really Does That? Edition

Tennessee_titans_30x21 John Glennon hears your concerns about the defensive line uncertainty heading into the 2010 season, but doesn't offer much more than the fact that we need more production. A healthy Jason Jones and a good rookie seaosn from Derrick Morgan will go a long way towards making that happen.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Last night I had the privilege of watching one of the best comedians in the business tear the house down at Zannies, Louis C.K. If you aren't watching his new FX show you're missing one of the best shows in TV. Want proof? Check out this amazing opening scene from the show's second episode (VERY NSFW language) for perhaps the most honest and open discussions you'll ever see on a 'sitcom'.

Follow us through the jump for what passes as news on a late-July Friday...

Star-divide

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Kerry Collins doesn't get rattled much these days, and David Boclair says that's why he's stuck around with the Titans. But really, is staying calm an asset when the only two times you've been a day one starter for this franchise you've racked up 0-for-every-chance-you-get seasons?

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Paul K talked with rookie Titans linebacker Rennie Curran for the latest edition of his Early Influences series.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Cortland Finnegan is probably the player who best represents the mentality and sensibility of Jeff Fisher and his staff, and I'd trust his response to finally close the book on the idea of Terrell Owen sever playing in Nashville:

No. No.  I don't . . . no.  No.  No.  Not gonna happen. Jeff Fisher wouldn't allow it.  The guys . . . no.  He wouldn't be part of the Tennessee . . . no.  I'm just gonna say 'no' and just keep on pushing.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Cary Williams' agent explained his suspension... in as much as you can call "a situation involving his family" an explanation.

Have a great weekend!

Dez Bryant

From ESPN:

“This was very important to me to be able to get this done in time for the first practice,” Bryant said in a statement released by the team. “I want to help this team. I want to compete. I can’t wait to start playing football again.”

Bryant becomes the first first-round pick to agree to a contract, coming to terms before St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford, the No. 1 overall pick. This does not sound like a kid with alleged character issues. The Cowboys got some serious value with this selection. I think the Titans will regret passing on Dez.

I don't think they will

The only reason that he’s the first signed is because Jerry Jones is the first owner to throw out the money. Not because he’s the new face of the franchise, With the CBA agrement still a question mark Owners are a bit leery about throwing out BIG money first round picks, I expect alote more holdouts this year. I just hope we make Captin Morgan happy.

yeah, but..

his agent is the same as the 9ers rookie last year that held out half the year. he wanted top-10 $$, and it was rumored that Dez would want the same.

I think part of the negotiations would be to get in camp and have as great a year as possible to have a home game for the Super Bowl. The ’Girls have a talented team and probably the best chance as there has ever been for it.

In case everyone didn't know....

our highest paid defensive lineman for the upcoming season is Jovan Haye with a 2.5 million base salary. The next highest paid is Tony Brown at 2 million this year. I can’t decide to react with “Wow” or “Ughhh” or both.

How was the Louis CK show?

I was supposed to go with my buddy but somehow my checking account balance dipped near zero.

it was great

Todd Barry did a surprise set to start it out, then Louis did almost completely new material. He’s really at a good spot in his career right now, and you just don’t see many comedians that honest on stage.

Louie is hillarious

Other than The Office, it is my fave show! Zanies is a weird club though. I went last yr during camp when I came down(saw Tammy Pescitelli & Chick McGee). Just a weird set up for a comedy club.

BTW, PLZPLZPLZ vote for my friend Roy Wood Jr on last comic standing. Great comic, even better human….even if he is a Dolphins/Cubs fan.

Roy Wood Jr is very funny

I SEEN THAT LITTLE GATOR ON YOUR CHEST. WE DON’T LIKE GATOR FANS AROUND HERE, SON!

It’s a Lacoste shirt, not a Florida shirt man!

John Glennon was the Preds beat writer prior to this year.

He was very good, 100 times better than Estwick.
