So many Running Backs
I just thought of our situation with our running backs, and we have 7 of them at the moment.
Who should stay? Who should go?
The positives and negatives of each (if you know them all)
What order do you have them in your depth chart? let me know.
Chris johnson
Javon ringer
Alvin pearman
LeGarrette blount
Stafon johnson
Dominique lindsay
William Rose.
I don't know much about the last 2 backs, but give me some feedback, it'd be greatly appreciated.

never heard
of william rose so he has to go. i think we keep four in Chris Javon Stafon and Legarrette
My take on each of them
Chris Johnson- makes the team, obviously, if he wants. His hold-out situation could open the door for another guy to catch eyes though.
Javon Ringer- our #2 running back at this point (well, #1 technically), and an obvious improvement as a backup for Lendale. Who knows, we could be relying on this guy as our starter for at least a few games…
Alvin Pearman- 27 years old, has been in the league for 5 years, and hasn’t shown much promise. I think he gets cut.
LeGarrette Blount- Really big guy who also can serve as a fullback. For this reason, I believe we keep him.
Stafon Johnson- We wouldn’t have drafted him if we didn’t think he had potential. For this reason, I say he’s on the team as long as CJ holds out. How well he plays will determine whether we keep 3 or 4 running backs on the team. I’d say Stafon is really competing against WR’s, etc. for value. I think he makes it though.
Dominique Lindsey- cut or practice squad
William Rose- cut
In summary, we keep CJ, Ringer, Blount, and SJ (in that order).

We didn't draft SJ
he was an undrafted pick up

hahaha you're right..
I screwed up. In any case though, I see SJ coming through and getting that final spot. Maybe it’s the whole desire factor coming into play, wanting to see a stand-up guy who could very well be dead right now succeed and play for my NFL team, but whatever it is, my gut tells me we keep this guy around for a good while in some capacity.
No worries
I’m curious to see what he does too.

I really hope we keep Stafon,
he seems like a hardworking kid that just lost his chance due to an unfortunate accident, how many times do you hear about that and actually still see the guy in the league? If he makes it, I will be rooting for him.

Me too.
After what he went through, it would be nice if he makes the team.
I'm not a VY fanboy, I'm a VY supporter
Well IceOne....
I would have to agree with your listing….but I don’t think it makes much difference, cuz CJ & Ringer are going to be the only ones to really see any action.
we have 4 preseasons games this year for to test them
we will have none next year(haha) & in two years in 2012; we will have two preseason games.
Actually in a hypothetical situation: CJ holds out and is no show until week 8. Here is the depth chart for Halfback against those Raiders.
1. Javon Ringer
2. Blount
3. Stafon Johnson
4. Alvin Pearman
Cut the other two

I wouldnt be suprised to see Blount get the goalline carries.
Ringer is good, but not really a bruiser. Blount could be the guy to replace White.
thing is i see more of a brusier in Blount
than i could ever see in White

Blount
After looking at his college and draft tape he is, in my humble opinion not only a replacement for Lendale White but an upgrade from him.

How exactly does the practice squad assignment process work?
If anyone can answer this, it would be much appreciated.
Blount
I think Blount will be the #2 back and short yardage back he is a beast, and I like Stafon Johnson they were both steels for not having to drafting them I think!
Alvin Pearman should be cut.
Face the facts we already know what he has to offer and that’s not much, I would rather take a chance to see if we have and talent with the new guys. Alvin Pearman had last year to show us something and didn’t show anything, atleast you can try the news guys out as return men also.
my point exactly!

That's what I'm hoping for.
The guy is a beast. He also apparently can catch according to the coaches. It is a huge changeup for a defense to have to be able to catch CJ and then try to turn around and have to bring down a big back like Blount. All the while having to worry about the QB taking off. I hope Blount works hard, he has real potential behind this o-line.
I can only pray he ends up like Brandon Jacobs

Because their name sounds cool...
let’s keep Javon, LeGarrette and Stafon.
Cut Williams, Alvin and Dominique.
Let’s keep CJ because of his dreadlocks and gold teeth.
It's CJ's SPEED that is why we keep him
& DO NOT TRADE HIM!
For realz
he holds out for a few months and now titans fans are turning on him? thats how its coming off anyways

we are not turning on him
we are frustrated that he is holding out, CJ is showing no sign of wanting to play because he’s too busy whining. so we have to look to our other running backs

I hate holdouts. Holdouts are wack. Wiggity wiggity wack.
He is not to the “not cheer for him” stage yet, but I am not a CJ fan anymore.

Misunderstanding
Thats not what I mean by turning on him.
As it happens I’m already getting excited to see what Lagerrette Blount is gonna do but that’s a bit of a moot point.
What I mean is that I read and hear people all over the place even among Titans fans saying that hes a greedy jock, cut that clown, who needs CJ2K…etc you get the idea.
I wouldn’t be interested in anything other than holding out also if I was in the top one or two in terms of RB performance and only in the top 50 in terms of pay. Just sayin, STT

got to look at it from the FO side too \
you have a top running back for cheap would you want to pay, think of it like a phone bill you agree to pay and honor a contract but the phone company suddenly thinks their hot shit and decided they want to raise the price on you, how would you feel?
REAL SOVIET DAMAGE!!!!!
by SouthTexasTitan on Jul 4, 2010 5:18 PM CDT up reply actions
Like changing phone companies!!
BUT….then I start thinking about how EXCELLENT my phone company really is…like how I get service in bad areas where most other phone companies don’t even get service…and how my phone company can do things that other companies CAN’T do for me….and now, I’m kind of thinking…do I really want to lose all that extra stuff?…..and would I really be happy with a company that’s going to give me less? So maybe, I say OK, I’ll pay more as long as it’s a reasonable increase…cuz I really do want the best service there is!!

and in this case
is the higher quality service the metaphor for a super bowl piece?

could be
but we all know one man can’t take you to a super bowl, (one man can lead) but alone goes no where. we can only watch to see what happens, we can yell and scream our lungs out but that wont make Bud sign the check any faster (or at all).

Turn on a player.....how low
CJ is a human. The enemy is the F.O. If CJ was already given a huge contract once and is holding out again like Haynesworth. Sure, the player should be blamed. CJ should hold out & I won’t blame him. If Lebron & other basketball free agents can receive 120+ millions in this recession; there is no reason CJ can’t receive 30% of that…
The F.O. and media wants you to hate him. I hope he holds out, we have a losing season, so then maybe more people will begin to despise those who control our team. And not blame the best RB for wanting more than 556K a year.
Comparing Football contracts with phone companies. Well CJ2K’s service is unlike any service out there and all the other star RBs, even Marion Barber are making 5+ million a year. So if other companies are making 10X what you make; would you stay in business or raise your rates?!?

CJ ran for 2000 yards but what happened the first six games?
REAL SOVIET DAMAGE!!!!!
by SouthTexasTitan on Jul 6, 2010 9:03 AM CDT up reply actions
Fisher had the wrong Player in the QB slot
hence the Baltimore Playoff game (our last one). Mawae & CJ were injured but we had to rely on this sorry horrendous QB (collins) who needs to RETIRE.
VINCE YOUNG!
When we had Haynesworth, Bulluck, KVB, & Kearse; they were all more healthy two years ago when we went 13-3 then; thus giving the offense lots of opportunity to utilize. Brady got 50 TDs off of their NE Veteran Defense they had a few years ago. Collins got (Blank) TD’s. I’m not looking it up nor does his pathetic stats matter on how many TD’s he had because it surely wasn’t enough to beat Baltimore.
Everyone loves to blame the Defensive line or the secondary, but NO ONE wishes to blame KERRY COLLINS & FISHER for those 6 losses in a row!!!
If our line is so stellar to give CJ2K 2,006 rushing yards, I guess that means they can’t pass block worth a D*&% or maybe it was because COLLINS SUCKS!
by titanwarrior1 on Jul 6, 2010 11:08 AM CDT up reply actions
we bashed collins and fisher for a while
the secondary was also at fault

well you're correct
one man can’t take a team to a super bowl.
but that’s why I said a Super Bowl Piece, as in a guy who is a quality player that will help take us all the way if more pieces like him are added.

by RareColoradoTitanFan on Jul 6, 2010 2:50 PM CDT reply actions
Same page then.
I just wanted it to be known it was more Collin’s fault than it was the poor defensive play.
Every new NFL year results in a rising defense who intakes too many injuries. Two years ago, it happened to the Panthers, last year it happened to us. This up and coming year, we have no more Kearse; so hopefully that entails we are no longer cursed.
Side note: I had a huge argument with a Patriots fan yesterday as he tried to tie the snow game with the Pats also dominating the Jets & Fins too. I checked his math today & they only beat the Jets by 17 pts & Fins by 7 pts. I thought it took a bit more than 24 pts in 2 seperate games to be a domination. They also lossed to the Jets/ Fins the other two games they played them respectfully. They did dominate the Bucos by 28 pts, but 13 other teams also beat the Buccaneers. I been trying to warn these Zealous Pats fans that their beginning of the end is coming for them. We will seek our revenge on those greedy Patriots (including Belichek most of all) in 2011/2012 from their sins of greed. Actually no playoff opponent would be sweeter than them this year. Miracles can happen!
by titanwarrior1 on Jul 6, 2010 3:42 PM CDT up reply actions
It was not "more Collins' fault"
That’s crazy talk.
