Tennessee Titans Morning Links: Will Witherspoon Is Our Rebound Date Edition
Will Witherspoon is replacing Keith Bulluck in the line-up during early practices, so through no fault of his own he'll be compared to unrealistic expectations and be forced to carry emotional baggage of devote KB fans like myself. Still, the experienced veteran seems to be doing a great job getting caught up on what's expected of him in our scheme, and he's certainly saying all the right things.
Vince Young is working on one of his major issues when it comes to throwing the ball: throwing to his left. His stats throwing to his left haven't been that bad, but his inconsistent mechanics have caused him to miss open receivers.
Bud Adams and the NFL are teaming up to donate $400,000 to charities dedicated to helping the people of Nashville rebuild from the floods. Smash correctly pointed out that their combined contribution is less than Taylor Swift donated on her own, but in their defense, Swift has probably made more money than both parties combined over the past 3 years... and she also lives downtown.
Follow the rabbit down the hole for news from around the league...
Albert Haynesworth is skipping the Redskins' minicamp, but the team still contends that they aren't trading him. I, however, am still holding out hope... and you can't take that away from me!!!!
Lots of draft analysts yawned at the Colts' draft, and only complained about the fact that they didn't address their gaping hole at CB until the third round. In related news, Colts' 3rd round pick CB Kevin Thomas, could miss the entire 2010 season after wrecking his knee during the team's rookie camp.
Remember how the Bengals signed Pacman and all seemed hunky dory? Well it's not: reports are there's significant dissension on the Bengals' staff over the signing.
The Real LT is most likely effed in the A, as they say. What's worse, is that he's already lost his NutriSystem deal.
Art Rooney II is throwing Ben Roethlisberger under the bus in response letters to concerned fans. Apparently he's not a fan of paying millions of dollars to high-profile serial rapists to reflect his family's reputation.
OT Jared Gaither was a popular target for offseason trade talk (with the Colts being his speculated destination), but now Gaither i's undergoing an MRI to see what's going on with his injured foot. Gaither hasn't practiced since Michael Oher replaced him at LT, but the injury is being blamed for the absence.

Call me crazy, but...
$900K from Taylor Swift AND the NFL together? That is not a lot of money. I’ll be the NFL gave more than that just to the Re-Elect Arlen Specter campaign after last year’s hearings on the League’s distribution deal.

How much did the NFL give to the Katrina recovery?
I find it astounding that we are complaining about the amount of money people are GIVING.
How much did you give? (That is not aimed at you in particular D)

I think Taylor set a bar that several others should've matched.
If she could pony up that kind of money, then so could have many others musicians/athletes in her position since many of them call Nashville home. You know Tim & Faith (each), Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, and many others could’ve easily matched her donation. Especially the NFL.
This is not a complaint, because I’m glad that any amount of money is being raised. This is just my thoughts.
I think you guys just aren't privvy to the amount of money that these guys have at their disposal.
Maybe I’m just getting jaded after nearly 10 years of dealing with NYC’s financial district, but truly… the money that these folks have is actually staggering. It is much, much, MUCH more than you can really get a feel for if you’ve never seen that kind of seriously out-of-control living.
I haven’t given to the Nashville charity, and as full disclosure, I probably won’t. Be we’re pretty active in our community, and we give to local charities frequently. And here’s the reality: Taylor’s Swift’s $500K probably means less to her than your $25 at church on Sundays. And it is for darned sure that Bud Adams’ $200K is less than your weekly $25.
Seriously, don’t fool yourselves. People with money have much, much more than you’d typicaly realize that they do, and they’re much tighter with it.

I'm really excited about the offense this year
First, CJ2K has to play, but I like how VY is approaching things. Before you heard him talking about improving but nothing specific, that tells you that he wasn’t really into studying film. But now you listen to him and see how much more committed he is. I hope this means will see a better VY in 2010 than 2009, GO TITANS
I'm not a VY fanboy, I'm a VY supporter
I'm with ya LordDrist...
But am I the only one who dreads seeing the D take the field w/o #53? I think Will is a great pick up & can be a decent player, even a good player in this system. But he’s no Bulluck. KVB leavin didnt really bother me. But if they dont get 53 back, it will be hard to stomach
I think 53 will be back...
not too many teams are going to throw a ton of money at an older player with a recent very bad injury.
