OT: Pulled Groin
Alright, so it's almost triathlon season which means that instead of getting into heavy training mode, I am once again trying to rehab and injury. F&%^$k! Seriously, I feel a little like the Jason Jones of the CT amateur triathlon scene, save that no one is paying me to sit on the bench.
In Fisher-speak, I have a "little groin". Actually, what I have is a pretty bad pull in my lower back that agravated my groin, and when I tried to come back too early, I not only re-tweaked the back but pulled the groin muscle, too. Days spent sitting chained to an office desk have not helped.
Anyway, here is my question, because I know that we have some runners on this board, particularly guys who run FAST, which is way different (and more injury-inducing) than is slow running like I do. Question: How soon can I start running again? Does the pain need to be totally gone, tightness totally gone, or is it more like no symptoms + two weeks?
Thanks for your thoughts.

rest it for a week, try and take it easy , no heavy lifting, fast walking, are even sex
If your pain continues, i recomend you go see a specialist after a week, it could be a WAY more serious problem. You could also have a hernia , witch is almost the same as a pulled groin, it’s when the muscles that form the abdominal wall are weakend are damaged. So take It easy !!

I don't think it's a hernia.
I had a physical just this week and would hope that the doc would’ve picked up a hernia, especially since we talked about the pulled groin. I mean, I pulled a muscle in my back and that’s what aggravated the groin, plus it’s been improving all week, so… I tend to think and hope it’s just a pulled muscle, albeit an inconvenient one. It doesn’t actively hurt much. It’s just sore when I try to move around on it.
Anyway… thanks.

Yo!
I rode twice, swam twice, and “ran” on an elliptical trainer last week, despite the injury. Eh… It seems like it’s getting better; I’m just trying not to push it.
