Franchise Players
So, I'm running a series on this topic. Five most important players to the team. Just one catch:
They have to be with the team for the long-term future (four years or more).
In no order:
Chris Johnson, HB: The Flash. 2,000+ rushing Yds. 500 receiving yds. Holy shit.
Cortland Finnegan, CB: Underrated, but most important cog in the secondary (the one constant).
Tony Brown, DT: Key in the 4-3 defense, really deserves some more attention.
Kenny Britt, WR: Finally, a playmaker at WR!
David Stewart, RT: The man is a monster at RT. According to Profootballfocus.com, he excelled in pass and run blocking. That makes him an all-around RT, and those don't fall out of trees and crush Newton, you know.
Note: Gerald McRath and Rob Bironas deserve mentions here as well.
Your turn!

I would mark him as more over-rated then under-rated...
Finnegan: He is a great NFL CB. But I watched the pro bowl two years, the last time it was in Hawaii. & Cortland got toasted by Larry Fitzgerald on a deep pass. He is really tough, great tackler for a CB; great on man to man & press. But his speed & height is what becomes his weakness.
Britt: Has not served us near enough receptions/ TDs to be considered an elite WR for us.
Stewart & Roos: These guys are Monsters and both should be HOFs.
Tony Brown & McRath: This is where they show their colors & Potential! NOW
Isn’t Bironas already in the K HOF? Oh, yea, he has to retire first!

Finnegan
that was in the Pro Bowl. There is a different set of “rules” when you’re playing in the probowl. Look at how Finnegan covered Fitzgerald during last season’s regular season game (WK 12) and see the difference.

Agreed all the way around
except Cortland Finnegan is not overrated… simply absurd.
Pro Bowl shouldn’t show you anything… look at week 12 last year bub
#1. C...ya...J
#2. VY……..#3. KB (alias “the playmaker”…….#4. Gage……#5. Finney……..honorable mention….Tony Brown
I like a reciever who will....
be willing to sacrifice his body to go up and get the ball….especially in crucial situations.
