Corner or DE?
I was reading the newest mock draft on nfl.com (http://www.nfl.com/draft/story?id=09000d5d816f37c9&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true) and the have us at sixteen with all the top DEs and CBs on the board remaining. If this actually did happen do you think that we would go in the direction of a Joe Haden/Kyle Wilson or a Morgan/Dunlap/Pierre way? I know its unlikely but what are your thoughts?

i say
joe haden cuz they say his stock is falling cuz of the combine. but really anyone of these would b good but i think pierre is a bust
DE over CB
Reasons:
1. DE is a more important position. Compare how many hall of fame DE’s there are over CB’s. A great DE can make an average CB into a pro bowler. A great CB doesn’t have the same impact on a DE.
2. DE’s tend to develop in the pros sooner than CB’s.
3. We already have 1 really good CB. We don’t have any really good DE’s.
4. There are more 1st round worthy DE’s in this draft than first round worthy CB’s. The only CB I would consider taking over JPP, Morgan, Graham, Griffen or Dunlap is Joe Haden, and I think he will be gone before #16. I think Kyle Wilson would be a 2nd round pick in most other drafts, it is just that this years crop is pretty average at CB.
Though I see you are trying to make a case for DE...
you actually make some good points as to why we should at least think of going CB first. This draft is very deep as you mention at DE and not so deep with top flight CB’s. I think if a good CB is there at 16 we take him, and then focus on the D-line for the rest of the draft. I think that Brown and Jones (if healthy) will be fine inside, and a couple of more speed rushers from the outside for the rotation would go a long way. To your point about hall of famers, that again makes a good point, you can not tell me that all those hall of famers at DE were 1st rd. picks. Our d-line coach is one of the best and he can coach up later rd. talents. Also maybe the reason for not having as many CB’s is because they are harder to find. Sure we got Finny in the 7th but that is more of a rairty than anything.
To me its a matter of would you rather roll with the corners on the roster or the defensive ends on the roster. While I think both need an upgrade, I would much rather go through the season with our d ends then our corners. I’m sure the Titans could find a pass rusher in the later rounds anyway, they always seem to when the need to.
I can't imagine the decision.....
if Joe Haden and either Pierre-Paul or Morgan are both sitting there. Take the top corner in the draft or the top DE. I go back and forth. Trading down still seems like a good option if the Titans can aquire a 2nd rounder. Would you rather have one of the three mentioned above or say Carlos Dunlap AND Kareem Jackson? Tough call.
TRADE DOWN!
DE Dunlap/ Griffen & CBs Kareem Jackon/ Myron Rolle seems much better by trading down.
If we don’t here is what we are getting: Derrick Morgan or PP guy that nobody likes expierence & _______. All top 10 CBs will be gone by the middle of the third round. Everyone knows we are drafting DE! Does our FO every provide shock value! That’s the Raiders/ Cowboys job.
I def agree with Tommy that DEs arise pro-wise more than CB. Most CB rookies arise in year 2-4. I just get tired of waiting every year to fill one position slot. 2 years ago it was HB, last year it was WR, now its DE, next year it will be CB, then OLB.
I can’t wait to find out which CB we will draft in round 3. Hope it works out for us…
Who are we trading down with?
You just don’t make a couple of calls and trade down. Everyone wants to trade down and the majority of the time it doesn’t happen. Read PK’s articles on this.
Also please clarify what this sentence means: “If we don’t here is what we are getting: Derrick Morgan or PP guy that nobody likes expierence & _______.” Especially the “PP guy that nobody likes experience &______.”

I understand an ideal scenario may be difficult to come accross.
but trading down happens in each and every draft and in almost every single round. I am sure not every team that would like to trade down is able to, but it’s not like it’s uncommon.
Thank You
For the record, The Patriots & Brown Both traded down at the minimum three times last year. I presumed it was Common.

rrrr
It is so annoying to write perfect grammar in every sentence just for you boring haters. If you are an english teacher who has nothing to do all but correct people in forums. I don’t have all day to write free papers for you. Give me a break here. Misspelling words are bad but I am only trying to make my opinion known here.
I’ve noticed speculation from numerous “fanboys” like myself; that have labeled JPP as being inexperienced with only 1 real year of college experience.
Since you stated we can not trade down; our FO will draft Morgan & ____ refers to our third round draft choice. An unpopular underrated CB that will not show any value until 2012.
I’m really looking forward to see how well McRath, Ford, DE Rook, Jones, Spoon all can handle their new spots. Really hard to be positive about this.

The Chargers are an interesting trade down option now
If Spiller falls to 16, the Chargers now have a late pick in the first and an early pick in the second thanks to their trade of Charlie Whitehurst.
If a top 2-3 CB is still on the board....
….go with the CB.
Otherwise, it’ll have to be a DL. I would hope they don’t rule out the possibility of grabbing the best ILB/OLB/MLB if they think he’s a potential stud.
Still, I’d stick with CB unless they’re gone, which is very possible.

All the top raccoons will be gone by the end of the 2nd round
I know we have one serviceable raccoon right now, but it might make sense to draft another raccoon in the 1st/2nd in case T-Rac goes down mysteriously.
I like gramsey's reason for wanting a pass rusher 1st.
It takes alot of pressure off the secondary, and if anyone needs that, IT’S US :-(
