Tennessee Titans Morning Links: What I Got Will Knock Your Pride Aside Edition
Kevin Mawae continues to linger on the FA market, but he's not in any rush to sign with a team unless it's the right situation. It'll be curious to see if Mawae is willing to let this play out all the way through camp, hoping for an injury to open up a new opportunity, or if he'd go ahead and re-sign with us understanding that he'd probably be a back-up.
It's been a slow start to the free agency for Titans fans, but if you're like me you keep checking the wire hoping it'll Tell Me Something Good, just like Rufus (which featured Chaka Khan)! It's a dreary day here in Nashville, so it's of pressing importance to start the day with good coffee and something real funky.
Paul K delivers a (admittedly non-scientific) post analyzing the case for not trading back in the draft. He's certainly right that the trade back for Ben Troupe didn't work all that well, but it's still a sound plan if there isn't anyone overwhelming and a good offer comes along.

FO takes a look back at predictions vs. reality when it came to RBs in 2009.
A few years back many of us were disappointed when the Steelers snatched-up Texas WR Limas Sweed ahead of us in the second round of the draft. Since then he's had a middling-at-best career, and now it looks like he could be getting squeezed out of the Steelers' plans after the signing of Arnaz Battle and Randle El. Could he pop back up on the Titans' radar?
It's the off-season, so it's time for folks to start acting like the Texans will finally turn the corner... I think that makes 4 years and counting.
Don Banks looks at how the draft plans of several teams have been impacted by free agency.
And finally, sad news today as HOF defensive lineman and Little House on the Prairie star Merlin Olsen died of cancer at the age of 69.
Have a great weekend, and go 'Dores in the SEC tourney tonight!

I get what Kuharsky is saying
but all that means is that teams picked bad players. It could have happened at their original spot.

"What if I was Peyton Manning?"- CJ to the ref after they picked up a personal foul flag for a late hit on him.
It's a big crap shoot...
that’s why teams will spend the jack to pick up proven players in free agency….too bad our team won’t. :-(
