Mr. Adams,

We share a common interest in the Titans.  We both long for a Super Bowl victory, to bring the Lombardi trophy to Nashville and have a celebratory parade that Tennesseans will remember for generations.  Unfortunately, we are moving farther and farther away from that goal.  With that in mind, it is time to take a serious look at the state of the football team, and make decisions based on the best interest of the Tennessee Titans.

Let's start with the quarterback.  Five years ago, both you and I fell in love with the idea of an athletic Longhorn QB that could revolutionize the game.  We believed in this man.  We adored him.  We rooted for him even when others continued to diminish his abilities.  After five years, it is clear that Vince Young the Titan will never be Vince Young the Longhorn.  It is time to cut bait.  He has proven himself emotionally unstable and mentally weak.  Keeping him on the roster will only enable Vince's current behaviour to continue.  Vince Young has the talent to be successful in this league.  We both know that.  Until his attitude, behaviour and work ethic change though, he will never capitalize on that potential.  It is in the best interests of both the Tennessee Titans and Vince Young to part ways.  The Titans can move forward with a new quarterback, and Vince Young will be forced to change his ways to find success.  By releasing Vince Young, you will also save 14-15 million dollars next year.  That extra cash should lead us to our next move.

Jeff Fisher needs to be fired.  I love Jeff Fisher.  He is an outstanding coach and well-respected around the league.  Clearly you feel the same way, or he wouldn't have lasted this long.  Unfortunately, the players have tuned him out, and the effort level shown in the past few games is simply not good enough to have any chance of competing.  Some of the blame falls on the players, but there is plenty to go around.  We have recently come off two painful blowout losses, both at the hands of divisional rivals, and lots of blame should fall squarely on the head coach.  With the extra money you have saved from releasing Vince Young, you can afford to fire Jeff Fisher, pay him his 6 million dollars and wish him well in his future endeavours.

It is time for a fresh start.  Our best option going forward is to let Mike Reinfeldt go through the process of finding a new coach and look for a new quarterback.  You pay these football people to make football decisions, and so you should let them take this team forward.  A new head coach and new quarterback bring with them new optimism for the future.  It may take a year or two to rebuild this team, but getting the right leadership in place will benefit this franchise for years to come.  Its a step toward that victory parade.

Sincerely,

WinnipegTitanFan13
