There's simply no way Bud Adams lets Jeff Fisher comes back next year. I'm sure that on some level he'd never admit to, Jeff is ready to move on as well. This is really going to suck. I know a lot of people here will be jumping up and down about it, but I'm not one of them... just like I wasn't happy about Vince's effective dismissal: I've spent a lot of years believing in and rooting for this team, and a complete failure like this is not something most franchises bounce back from in one year. Still, it's undeniable that the Bud/Jeff marriage has run it's course, and the damning evidence continues to become obvious as day. The latest was this tweet from Terry McCormick:

The Titans are in complete implosion mode, and there's nothing that says their going to turn this around... not that there's a reason to other than pride. The fact that Chris Johnson bolted the stadium before his press obligations were met kind of sums up the whole situation over the past 5 games: the offense is nowhere to be found while the defense continues to do it's job carrying the load for an offense that produces more drops, stuffed runs and interceptions than it does first downs. About the only thing you can really hammer the defense on is not forcing turnovers, but they're limiting the opposition to manageable points totals.

The only unit that's probably done more to help than the defense is the special teams, which logged a blocked field goal thanks to Jacob Ford.

Dinger called plays from the coaches' box. He relayed the call through QB coach Dowell Loagains, who then sent it in to Collins. Words can't describe how tough Dinger has been over the past month, still fulfilling a large number of his duties while dealing with cancer and chemotherapy, but unfortunately the results just haven't been there on the field. It's impossible to tell from afar how that dynamic plays into the Titans current encyclopedia of ineptitude on offense.

I don't know if the Titans have checked-out on the season, but they can't pay their bill with the front desk, for damned sure.
