11 things Titans need to do to contend in 2011.
1. NEW HEAD COACH - I think it is apparent that we need a NEW HEAD COACH. I don't know who but one that knows how to use his damn players.
2. SOLVE QB PROBLEM - We have Young. I know that he isn't the best of quarterbacks and that he isn't that mature but the guy wins. It doesn't matter how but he gets the job done. And if Bud Adams somehow loses his faith in Young in the upcoming months, trade up in the draft and draft a legit franchise qb.
3. GET RID OF CHRIS HOPE - He isn't getting the job done. Simple as that.
4. NEW CENTER - Eugene Amano makes too much mistakes. I still wish we resigned Mawae.
5. RANDY MOSS - What was the point of signing him and NOT playing him. I wish that Fisher is gone and we resign Moss. He would actually play the WHOLE game. Imagine him and Britt. 2 big and physical receivers. And Nate Washington in the slot brings speed. BUT this is only if he wants to come back which I doubt even though he said he wants to.
6. STEPPING UP ON DEFENSE - Since Bulluck went to the Giants, I haven't seen anyone step up and become a vocal leader on defense.
7. RESIGN JASON BABIN - 2nd in the league in sacks with 12.5. NUFF SAID.
8. HEALTHY DERRICK MORGAN - He was our 16th pick in the 2010 which means this guy is good. I wonder what he will do next year.
9. BIG BACKUP FOR CJ2K - Remember Smash and Dash?? Lendale punched in multiple touchdowns on the goal line backing up CJ. And we all know what Blount is doing right now. CJ can't force his way into the endzone and take lots of beatings. I say we bring back Lendale White.
10. BEAT THE COLTS TWICE - Beating the Colts twice will be a big help getting into the playoffs. I think if we can beat the Colts twice, we can ultimately win the division.
11. O - LINE - What has happened to the line?? Does two years really make a big difference. Just in 08 they were amazing!!

wins....he rides cJ's back
Only way he wins like last year is because he could scramble a bit which took pressure off CJ, now that teams see that all it takes is to put a hit on Vince and he goes off crying and is out of the game….now CJ cant run either so we stink up the NFL. Vince in not a has been he is a never was!

it's a joke...
seriously people if there’s ANYONE here who still think I’m on Young’s side then let it be known: I’ve NEVER been on his side and I don’t know where the conception came from.

matthews did look good
he’ll be starting next year. hope is picking up where nick harper left off. dumbass fisher still thinks he’s a strength
IMO
1- Mike Singletary is Availabe (I joke, Yes)
2- Young can win games, but draft another for back up
3- Oh Chris Hope, you are the new nick Harper of the DBs
4- Velasco is better than Amano
5- Randy, it’d be nice to see him back with a whole off season to get them to work with him, this whole oh they play the same position stuff is stupied
6- Setphen Tulloch or Ball, Brown, or JJ should do this
7- Babin, Most sack by an AFC DE, and DE sacks are way better than OLB sacks!
8- I can’t wait for the return of Morgan as well, i wouldn’t say he was looking like the Suh of DE’s in the Class but, it sure did look like it
9- From who we have now, who should backup CJ next year? Stafon, Herb, or Javon? Or Draft someone, why don’t we draft another full back, where we could run the fisher favorite Power I, + it makes the Full House Formation Run Plays better
10- Amen to that!!
11- I can’t really put a finger on it, we need to reevaluate and cease the problems on the O-Line
Hey Look, a One line Signature.
I like this, but i think we shoudl try to move amano back LG
The Day The Titans learn to use: Vince Young, Chris Johnson, Jared Cook, Kenny Britt, Randy Moss, and Nate Washignton is the day we win a super bowl.
Agree.
Velasco seems to be solid at C, give him a chance to work with the starting unit over the offseason, and shift Amano to either guard spot. I think Harris’ contract is up, so if he’s not back then there you go.
I have many leather-bound books, and my apartment smells of rich mahogany. And there's this awesome Chris Johnson Fathead over the wood paneling. Seriously, it's kind of a big deal...

I agree with this for the most part
1. It’s obvious…Fisher shouldn’t be here next year. I like Rivera, mainly for the fact that his defenses have baffled Peyton Manning multiple times with the Bears (4-3 D) and Chargers (3-4 D).
2. I still have hope for Young but it’s fading. I would have planned on drafting a QB in the 2nd/3rd round this upcoming draft anyways but I think it becomes a higher priority now. I wouldn’t draft a QB in the 1st round unless Luck or Mallett falls to us…but I doubt it.
3. Chris Hope has lost it…he started losing it some last year but he’s lost it now. We have Robert Johnson, who has some potential, and Myron Rolle, but drafting a safety in the 1st/2nd round is top priority.
4. Velasco is better than Amano, but I wouldn’t also be against just switching Amano and Harris back. I said this during the bye week that they should switch them because the run game was not the same…some people thought it wasn’t necessary then but it’s obvious now.
5. Keeping a HOF WR on the bench is not a good thing? Seriously, it’s a shame Randy hasn’t seen the field over Washington or Gage (which is laughable to say the least). This is probably one of the biggest indictments against the coaching staff. I would love to have him back but I doubt it will happen.
6. You become a leader first by your play then by your voice. I can see Tulloch, JJ, or Babin doing this (if he stays around another year).
7. Babin should be re-signed. With him and Derrick Morgan at the other end, the Titans would have one of the best DE combos in the league.
8. Morgan showed a ton of explosiveness off the line…his return next year will be like having 2 first round picks.
9. Blount should have been our powerback…people scoffed when I said he has the potential to be a special back in this league and we shouldn’t cut him because he “doesn’t play special teams”. But, we are where we are…power RBs can be found later in the draft so I would use a 5th or 6th round pick on one.
10. Only way to win the division.
11. I think the move of Amano to center really hurt…the center makes all the calls for protection and run blocking. Plus, there was so much penetration in the middle of the line…Amano was the biggest weak link and I think just brought the play of everyone else down.
So, my focus in the offseason would be new coach, trade down in the 1st round to acquire picks and/or draft a safety, QB in the 2nd or 3rd round, LB in the 2nd or 3rd round, then D-line, O-line, and power RB after that. We’ll see how FA goes.
I like Rivera too, but...
Someone commented on a thread a while ago that he is (if this is possible) even more conservative than Fisher. Maybe if he had a young hotshot OC that called the plays while he focused more on the big picture management stuff, it could work.

Yeah, I saw that same comment
And, then asked what makes them think Rivera is conservative, but got no answer. If you watch his defenses, then they are definitely not conservative…plus, I think if he were to become a head coach then he would bring a lot of the offensive assistants from San Diego. Those offensive coaches have learned under Norv Turner, who is probably one of the best play callers in the game.
Can you imagine the Chargers TE coach who has coached Antonio Gates all this time working with Jared Cook? So, I think Rivera would be a good choice depending on who he is going to bring with him to help the offense.
