NFL Pro Bowl Voting: No Titans Leading the Way

This probably isn't going to come as a shock to most of you, but the NFL has released the leaders in Pro Bowl voting (after the jump) and there are no Titans leading their position.  It has been a rough season, but there are some guys that deserve the nod.

Probably the most deserving Titans of a trip to the 2011 Pro Bowl is Marc Mariani.  People are still voting for Josh Cribbs because of his name.  Cribbs is only averaging 21.4 yards per kick return this year and hasn't taken one to the house while Mariani is averaging 25.5 per return and has a kick and punt return TD.  Do your duty as a fan of the two-toned blue and go right now and cast a vote for Mariani.

Also, this from John Glennon:

#Titans rookie Marc Mariani is on pace to break Derrick Mason's team record for combined punt and kick return yds. (1,794) set in 2000.less than a minute ago via web

Jason Babin is another guy that deserves your vote.  Dwight Freeney, again on name value, is leading the AFC in Pro Bowl votes for defensive ends.  Jason Babin has 10 sacks to Freeney's 8.  Let's get Babin to Hawaii.

Finally, it is a crime that Rob Bironas is not leading all kickers.  Bironas is 21/22 (95%) on field goals this season while Sebastian Janikowski, who is leading the voting, is 25/32 (78%).  That's just math.

Pro Bowl has been a joke for a while now.

I love seeing Titans players voted in, but let’s be honest…it’s a name recognition/popularity contest. And with all the injuries suffered to those voted in and drop outs it ends up being even further diluted and make a joke of than it all ready is, I’m willing to place a bet that the QB position gets so diluted that He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named (I am having way too much fun using these alternate names for him) gets in as one of the “Pro Bowl QBs”.

…having said that, I will vote for Mariani and Babin as they really do deserve it.

I have many leather-bound books, and my apartment smells of rich mahogany. And there's this awesome Chris Johnson Fathead over the wood paneling. Seriously, it's kind of a big deal...

same here

I promised myself I wouldn’t get sucked into the crapfest that is the pro bowl vote; however, Mariani and Babin (mostly Mariani) have been so good this year that I felt compelled to vote against injustice.

Of course looking at who is leading the votes as always you find one name who deserves it and 3 that don’t. For instance: Freaking Ed Reed has been on the PUP more than he’s been on the field.

And does anyone else get annoyed about how worthless DE, OLB difference has become with so many 3-4 teams right now?

And last: WHY NO STATS?

Mariani needs to go

He has been a continued bright spot in dark times! and on a side note i get sick watching mason continue to make plays and have big games for the ravens.

Donnie Nickey as ST player was a joke

I voted for Shaw though…he’s been a good addition.

True....but he DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Oh...wrong Mclain. Sorry.

Agreed.

I was furious last year that Hall didn’t make it after blocking for a 2,000 yard runner cause McClain is considered a “Fullback” for some unknown reason.

I used to get angry

All those years Mike Alstot went as a fullback, not I just realize the system sucks.
