I might have missed it, but I haven't heard anyone in the major stories or in the comments, anywhere, mention the fact that Kerry Collins has a finger injury. Has Fisher already said Kerry is over that now? He looked pretty darn bad in that Dolphins game, he was sailing passes left and right. And the funny thing about it was that it seemed to have gotten worse instead of better from the week before. That's gotta be the major concern going down the stretch, if Kerry re-injures that finger then he's probably done for the year too and you really only have Rusty and Chris Simms for the rest of the year.I guess with all the attention on VY and Rusty playing so horrible against the Texans, everyone is just hoping for the best with Kerry??
On that note, and I just thought of this while I was typing the post. With all the VY suppporters (myself included) bragging about how VY has saved Fisher's job twice, we might have overlooked the fact that Kerry has probably saved both VY and Fisher's job. Think about it, VY definitely benefited from the time watching Kerry in the 13-3 season, and Fisher earned a couple years of clout by having that good season. Then, Kerry goes out and sucks it up to start 09, and basically gives VY his chance to come in and shine. Same thing this year I suspect. He's already helped the team compete in a couple games. Kerry will come in and win 2 or 3 more games (barring a finger injury) and do just enough to save Fisher's job. If Bud has it his way, the team will draft an all star line-backer in the 1st round and go into next year with VY at the helm and Fisher coaching, and probably pay Kerry 8 million more dollars to hang around. Wouldn't that be hilarious?? Sorry to ramble.
