Stephen Tulloch sucks in pass Coverage.

I am writing this because I just finished watching a couple Titan games. The main one being the Raiders game. ( I watched this to get my mind off of the bad team we have been watching the past three weeks, and to put an actual smile on my face to see a real Titan game). Anyway, from watching the Raiders game, I came to the conclusion that aside from Will Witherspoon, and Gerald McGrath ( Who have been getting bashed for their coverage skills)... Stephen Tulloch, who in man-to-man has flat duties, i.e has to cover the running-back, SUCKS. He sucks big fat green donkey dick. Don't believe me? He can't even cover/tackle good in the open field. If you have this game DVR'd, watch how easy it was for Darren McFadden ( who by the way was the only player worth noting on the Raiders that day ) to put Stephen Tulloch in his place.

Now don't get me wrong, I love Stephen Tulloch, and he is fantastic in run support. But he was exposed in this game. He is too short to play MLB and too stocky. He cannot cover to save his ass.

think about this

A MLB vs RB.
Darren mcfadden 40 yrd: 4.33

stephen tullcoh 40 yrd: 4.76

Clearly, a MLB has no advantage in anyway getting to the flat from his regular position, MLB are not supposed to be good in pass coverage.

Not even the fastest MLB in the NFL, Patrick Willis, is great at pass coverage.

Think about this, in pass coverage he is supposed to be in the flat, right?
in run coverage his stuffs the gaps in the A gaps, right?

So, unless there is no way they will run the ball, like a 4th and 25, then he will be able to get to the flat, now, will he beable to get to the flat in time to cover a RB like run DMC? No.
not his fault, its his genetics, and position.

Just look at it from body perspective, and common sense.

our LB coverage problems are mostly over the middle, not in the flat

i'm not talking about over the middle, i'm defending Tulloch

TEs are covered by Witherspoon, McRath, and Hope.
and i know this.
its because of us using zone coverage at poor times.
using zone in the redzone = good.
using zone coverage anywhere else = bad

and read what I said.

Tulloch mainly has RB duties. Put in the tape vs Raiders. He NEVER made a play. EVER. Half the time, Vincent Fuller in the nickel would have to come up and make the tackle because Stephen was either getting juked, or simply outran.

Was disappointing to watch seeing as how the commentators were just talking about how he plays with a chip on his shoulder because all his doubters said he could never make it in the NFL because he was “too short/small”.

Well, in that game and most, they were right.

in the pass covering a speed RB is nearly impossible, the best you can hope to do is him to knock him down, or that he runs into aomeone else’s Zone

I think our linebacking corp as a whole is pretty weak at the moment.

Tulloch is a stud against the run, but all are getting smoked in coverage.

Well we've played teams known for running the ball and getting good gains.

So it’s probably more the gameplan than the players. I mean, this is the same Tulloch that had a game-ending INT against the all-pass Cowboys weeks ago.
