MCM Play of the Week (Week 8)
That sucked. But it was the Chargers, so what else were we supposed to expect? At least we didn't lay an egg. Ok, well at least our offense didn't lay an egg. This is not going to be and easy Bye Week on the defense with Chuck Cecil at the realm. This game was full of big plays from the Titans offense, but not much made it onto the internet- So here's your leftovers.
Videos after the jump...
A. Nick Schommer blocks punt for safety.Way to use your head, Nick! Too bad he didn't block it with his hands. If he did, the ball probably wouldn't have rocketed through the endzone an we might have had a chance at a TD. You can pin that one all on Randy McMichael.
B. Vince Young to Craig Stevens 1-yard TD pass.
I wish the play before this would have been up here, since it was a TD after all, but Stevens gets his TD. Look for the ball to get spread around more to people like Stevens and Jared Cook with Kenny Britt out awhile.
C. Chris Johnson 29-yard TD run.
Of all the highlight plays that CJ has made in his career, this may be the most impressive. We have our star QB making a HUGE block, our rookie sensation, Marc Mariani, making a really nice block downfield, and then CJ tops it off by somehow staying inbounds for the TD. This play was really about the only thing that CJ has to hang his hat on from this game. He played (yeah I'm gonna say it) absolutely terrible, otherwise.
D. Vince Young to Nate Washington 71-yard TD pass.
And your #1( best, ahead of everybody else, nobody is better) QB rating in league belongs to: Vince Young. Yes, you read that correctly. And look at Hands coming down with another big TD catch! Oh, wait. We lost? #@$!!!!

I'm going with Craig
not really that play, but because of his big play leading up to that. And because I love him…
Jordan Jefferson sucks. Fire Les Miles. Jamarcus is a beast.
I went with the Nate Washington TD
I still get stoked when we get a touchdown that doesnt belong to Chris Johnson. Cause when teams watch the film they gotta repsect the deep ball so that should start to get Cj alot more holes and not 9 guys in the box.
If you don't vote for CJ's TD then you are crazy.
That much team effort should not be losing to a blown coverage.
Ain't no time for hesitatin'
All you got to do is groove

I'm about to say something completely radical right about now so bear with me.
I see a lot of a young Terry Bradshaw in VY. Think about it, he’s not quite as talented and almost definitely won’t go on to have the same career that Bradshaw had but look at these quick nuggets:
-“ran for more yards than he passed for that day” was said many times during the early years
- Bradshaw was benched for a large portion of his 3rd season after dealing with some psychological issues and difficulty grasping the playbook. this lead to a quarterback controversy during the ‘74 season
- he played basically like crap for a little while after being hyped up as a top draft pick.
- he had an incredible running game behind him that he would ride to wins (along with a terrific, opportunistic defense that pressured the QB)
-he was an unorthodox QB in that he would run around in the backfield and try to make something out of nothing which occasionally lead to turnovers and mistakes
- fans hated him for a period of time
there’s probably some other things I’m missing here but it seems to me like their careers took similar paths early on.

Super Bowl Rings would be
next on the checklist to match bradshaws teams. This young Titans offense is growing up together.
much like the 70's Steelers
not that this team = the 1974 Steelers, but they’re certainly cut in the same mold
