Terry McComick delivers the book on the Titans formations/downs tendencies from the Broncos game. Perhaps the most surprising: we went with 11 passes to 1 run on 3rd downs all day. Of course that's mostly because almost every run on 1st or 2nd down was an utter failure, which leads to a ton of 3rd and long/must pass situations.
David Boclair writes a generic article on the coaching staff having so many guys who played safety in the NFL, but the real winner here is the title: Safety dance: Titans heirarchy suggests coaches are born on 'D'. PFW says that the signing of Will WItherspoon has helped the Titans in more than a few ways:
• The Titans' signing of OLB Will Witherspoon has paid dividends, as he has bolstered an already solid Titans pass rush with three sacks in his first three games. Witherspoon has shown this sort of ability before — he had seven sacks with St. Louis in 2007. On top of his contributions on the field, we hear Witherspoon has been a good addition to the locker room.
The Tennessean knows 5 things about the Titans. Not among them: if you stare at the Titans logo hard enough a 3-D image of a middle finger appears.
Don Banks says that the Titans fit neatly into a large pack of teams who's inconsistency are making the NFL harder to read this year.
FO asks, which NFL superstar is having the worse season: Chris Johnson (I think we all know why) or Larry Fitzgerald (who is 74th out of 86 receivers on the DYAR scale). Oh, and by some miracle our total defense still ranks 4th.
