Just one more game for the bye, where the big mean men can't hurt you anymore.
Jeff Fisher visited Club Karma on Friday night to try and get some more details on the Kenny Britt fracas from some of the employees who were working. Fisher said that he found enough to warrant further delaying his decision until after Kenny Britt made the Eagles cry uncle.
3rd in points given-up per game, and 2nd in points scored per game with a point differential of + 82... that's how you do some damage right there. This team won't win 13 games like the 08 team did, but I'm telling you this squad is better put together, more balanced and more talented than that team was as a whole.
TitansOnline previews next weeks game, noting that we've lost all 7 meetings with them since 1992 (if Jacksonville is Jeff Fisher's second home, then Nashville is the Chargers' kitchen). However, only MSM has the one stat you need to know about the history of this series: over the past four meetings the Chargers have outscored the Titans 143 to 58. And that's why I am hoping for the best, but expecting the worst on Sunday.
Terry McCormick breaks down the play calling from Sunday in a level of detail that makes me happy he's not shackled by the limits of the MCM daily format. Good stuff on the Titans use of max protect, balanced inefficiency on 1st down and rampant use of 3 WR sets on 3rd down. Great stuff here.
Kenny Britt and Chris Johnson are tied for the team lead with 7 TDs each. They're both tied for the most TDs of all non-QBs in the league, with only Antonio Gates ahead of them with 8. Is it still a question if Gage will start over Britt when he comes back?
It's another day of Vince Young being day-to-day. At this point I wonder if the injury onus is really more on Kerry Collins, because I'm sure they'd love to rest Vince through the bye week if Kerry's middle finger will allow it. It's time for Kerry to get some stretching exercises from Chuck Cecil and Bud Adams.
The Titans D-line is thriving due to the system that we all expected to work last year: 8 talented guys rotating in and and out constantly are keeping offensive lines on their heels and our guys on their toes. This supposed to be how it would go heading into last year, but that was before we realized Boom King had regressed and Jason Jones got injured.
David Thronton, marooned on the PUP list all year so far, is beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel... unfortunately it looks like that light is a freight train. I still say they wait until the last possible date, week 12, just in case there's an injury and they want to see if he can outperform the reserve LBs.
And just like that Chris Henry's career as a Seahawks is over after one special teams tackle, and he's stuck hoping they sign him back to the practice squad.
