It appears that spirits are high after pummeling the Jags last night and winning in Dallas the week before. And yes, this team does look good. But all other things not considered, the team schedule looks a bit rough going forward. And I'm not really considering the teams we are playing so much as the geography and time.
Week 7 - Philly at home. Looks fine on the surface, but this is a short week following MNF. Not the best of circumstances.
Week 8 - At San Diego. WAAAAY across the country. We never play well there.
Week 9 - Bye (good time considering the next game...)
Week 10 - At Miami. Now to the OTHER side of the country. At least it isn't back-to-back weeks.
Week 11 - Washington at home.
Week 12 - *Divisional game!* at Houston.
Week 13 - *Divisional game!* vs. Jax at home. Back-to-back important games followed with...
Week 14 - *Divisional game!* vs. Indy at home ON THURS. Short week alert! And the third div. game in a row! (At least it is at home.)
Week 15 - *Divisional game!* vs. Houston at home. Good Gawd. 4 in a row. At least the previous game will be fresh, but that knife cuts both ways, fellas.
Week 16 - at KC. Too far ahead to forecast this, but a playoff spot could be on the line for both teams (surprisingly).
Week 17 *Divisional game!* at Indy. Yep, it's our annual "wrap up the season vs. the Colts" game. Like the Houston series earlier, the previous game isn't too far removed and will play a big role in this one. And it doesn't appear that Indy will be resting starters this year.
So yeah, the schedule isn't pretty. To consider the actual opponents, all the teams are **currently** performing well, so the only week off is the Bye week. Something to consider in regards to the divisional games being packed so close together: an injury to the Texans or the Colts will be doubly in our favor due to the short turnaround time. Obviously, an injury to the Titans will hurt them in all games, regardless of our opponents.
