NFL Trade Rumors: Albert Haynesworth To The Titans Not Dead Yet
I promise today is the last time I will talk about this (especially because the NFL trade deadline is today at 4 p.m. Eastern), but NFL.com's Jason La Canfora is reporting that the Redskins have dropped the asking price for Albert Haynesworth. Fat Albert was not happy about being inactive Sunday night. I don't understand why Washington wouldn't try to to move him if they aren't going to play him.
I know how well this defense has played, but trust me when I say that adding Haynesworth to the mix would make them a lot better. Jim Washburn knows how to get him motivated, and he would be able to take his plays off now within the system because of the depth and talent of this rotation.
Think about a DT combo that starts with Jason Jones and Tony Brown and is spelled by Albert Haynesworth and Sen'Derrick Marks. And can you imagine offenses looking across the line at Jason Babin, Jones, Haynesworth and Jacob Ford on passing downs? That is scary.
You can keep an eye on all of the NFL trade deadline activity here.

This had me salivating:

I always go first half - coffee, second half - beer, because In LA, the games start at 10:00 a.m.
Me too!!!
That would be a nightmare for o-lines

"He is fast, but what I like about him is he looks like one of those track guys that actually knows how to run the ball and has good vision and patience. He is not just running at top speed. He knows when to use his speed, and he has some power and toughness, too.'' Barry Sanders about CJ2K

Thanks
Works now.

It looks like the Titans have played this very well
They have outlasted Washington, right up to the trade deadline. They correctly gauged the (lack of) interest of other teams and held firm on their offer. I think today we’ll see the Titans pull off a really good deal.
whatever happened to the thomas howard deal?
i heard the raiders are for sale & i remember all the talk of week 1 was that we’ld pick him after the game.
i’m all for some added depth, especially since we’ve already seen a bunch of beaten up d-lineman this soon into the season.
I cant wait until the deadline is passed.
One way or another we can stop talking about rumors.

I agree
The D-line is playing great but adding Haynesworth would only improve the pass rush. But the Titans should offer no more than a 3rd rounder. The Redskins are in no position to negotiate.

I'm sure Albert would help us as long as he's motivated,
But I don’t want to mess with success. The line is fine, and if Albert comes in and screws up team chemistry, this ship is going down.

what I don't get about the RedSkins is that if you don't trade him today for whatever return you can get
what benefit do they get out of by keeping him?
They don’t like him, he doesn’t like them.
Have to pay his salary even if he doesn’t play
If the Haynesworth that played in Tennessee is the one we get, great.
But he’s been mediocre at best when he’s been on the field with Washington. Just flat out not the same player that he was.
BUT, if we do get the old Haynesworth back, think about how much more effective our D-line will be? KVB, etc, produced for years because of the double/triple teams that Haynesworth drew. If Haynesworth dictates a double team for every passing down, our D line will be that much nastier.
"Do the Titans have a miracle left in them in what has been a magical season to this point? If they do, they need it now. Christie kicks it high and short. Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25; he dishes it back to Wycheck; he throws it across the field to Dyson. 30, 40, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5, endzone...touchdown, Titans! There are no flags on the field! It's a miracle! Tennessee has pulled a miracle! A miracle for the Titans!"

he doesn't even have to be that good
he will probably be behind JJ and T.Brown.
When JJ and T.Brown comes off we can put Marks + Haynesworth
^^ This I agree with
Even a subpar Hanesworth is better than Jovan Haye

haynesworth to tennessee
never heard that before

BOOM! You've been pharmacisted!
One thing to consider
Do we have a need for our 2011 3rd round pick?
Looking towards next year’s draft, we have a 1st and 2nd round pick. Why not give up our 3rd? What positions do we need to address for next year anyway? If anything, we already have an abundance of young talent at almost every position. What’s the need for a 3rd round pick?
Back in August, I would have thought we could use picks in the 2011 draft for positions like cornerback, d-line, maybe receiver or linebacker.
The emergence of Verner, McCourty, Ball, Babin, Williams, and Mariani makes me think we can risk a 2011 draft pick. What would we even use our 1st and 2nd round picks on next year anyway?
This team is not a rebuilding team, we are ready to jump to that next level. Getting Albert would help us more than a 2011 3rd rounder.
Is it strange that I wish we still had Ben Hartsock?
Fingers crossed.....
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Still……..how good would the D be? Wow!
Two games left against Schaub…….FYI………

I think we could use the LB from Oakland more
But would be happy to see either move made, if the price is right
Just over ten minutes.....

Yup.
Titans have still never found a trade worth taking, ever.

That's true. And it's a shame, too.
As good as our D line is, this move really would’ve made it “scary” as Jimmy said.
