Around SBN: Preakness 2012: I'll Have Another Wins Again

A federal prosecutor asked Vick about a December 2006 Atlanta Falcons team party during which the alleged conversation about steroids occurred. "Vick was reportedly overheard telling" the dealer (whose name was redacted from the memo) that he "liked his product," according to the Memorandum of Interview prepared by a case agent with the Department of Agriculture's Office of Inspector General.

Congratulations to Mr. Vick for continuing to be the least likable human being in the NFL to never beat a woman or kill another person.

Now we can add probable cheater to drug user, serial dog killer, illegal gambler and severely overrated embarrassment.

Probable cheater?

Or a visionary ahead of his time?

In 10 years, HGH will be in common use. Including me. When that stuff goes legal, I’ll be pumping it like crazy.

Be careful who you point fingers at in the NFL...

I don’t think you really want to expose the steroid problem in the NFL. If they punished everyone who took roids that played right now, next year, rosters would straight up look like The Replacements.

I can’t even imagine how many players would be on the list.

Screw 'em

I’d rather they do the best they can to bust people knowing that it won’t always be 100% than just wink-wink-nod-nod on this.

It’s the same way I don’t kill players for smoking pot, but I’ll hammer them for being too dumb/arrogant to be responsible enough not to get caught.

And I agree that this is best for the game in the long run.

But in the meantime, it would completely change the NFL. Look at baseball and the slide the MLB took because of a few high priced names. I’m willing to guess it is a MUCH MUCH bigger issue in football.

Romanowski. Merriman.

Nobody seemed to care. I think people kind of expect it from the NFL, right or wrong.

It's time for Congress to get involved

HGH is the future

leagues should just get on board now and make a legitimate process, like a physician review board, that can sanction each individual player’s usage in case of serious injury. i don’t think we want HGH milkshakes in every locker room or for people to use it just to bulk up, but when part of a guy’s body is legitimately broken, HGH should be available to them if real, credible doctors with league authority say it is helpful medicine.

I agree.

But it’s not that easy. Its the connotation of the name that brings everybody to anger. Nobody could even suggest that without getting booed off a stage.

I agree with Hal

I think it is highly hypocritical to demand what we do from NFL players then ban them from substances that can help their bodies heal and possibly stave off some of the effects later in life that several players have suffered from.

And, as I said, in 10 years time, HGH will be in common use.
