Free Agent Answers
Many Titans fan are all ready looking forward to the draft to answer our woes on defense among other things, but we might want to look at veteran freeagents to answer some of those problems.( the following info is not considering who will be resigned.) We all saw the terrible defensive backs the Titans fielded this season minus Finnegan. There are very notable names that could be available at DB. Carlos Rogers, Tramon Williams (restricted FA), Dunta Robinson, Richard Marshall , Leigh Booden, and Marlin Jackson among many others. Line-backer could also be a hole that we might need to fill if Bulluck doesn't return here are a few possible replacements: Shawn Merriman (very unlikely), Barret Rudd, Demeco Ryans, Karlos Dansby, and Larry Foote among others. At D-line Are options are Ellis Dummerville, Ray Edwards and Arron Kampman among others. So if we loosen the reigns on the pocket book we could have a good team.

We got Hope and Thornton from FA
Not to mention KVB. Those are the kind of deals I hope for. They weren’t huge names, but they turned out to be great signings.
That was a different regime

"What if I was Peyton Manning?"- CJ to the ref after they picked up a personal foul flag for a late hit on him.
Kampman
is a guy we should target. He would fit in well here. Fisher better tell Reiny to get him some players this offseason because another 8-8 WILL cost him his job next year. Even though he should be fired NOW.
Copy/Paste
Here are my offseason thoughts:
1.) Splurge on a Premiere WR – bring in Marshall and don’t take no for an answer, for example.. VY, CJ, a premiere #1, and Britt would combine for a very potent offense for the next few years. It is worth the investment. Get it done, Mike R.
2.) Settle the Center issue quickly – Harris is a good, solid OL, but a shaky Center. He is not the future at Center. If Kevin Mawae has another year left, that’s quite fine; otherwise, get a solid veteran for this Waaaaaay-too-important-to-experiment-with position.
3.) No more screwing around with the return game. Either settle this problem with a veteran, or with a blue chip rookie. No more "hunch" projects with this important element of the NFL game. The best of our worst is NOT good enough.
4.) After making these three moves, spend the entire rest of the offseason drafting (and if still active in Free Agency, signing) defense. A #2 CB, DL, LB, etc. etc. Make it a defensive draft, and make that possible with the above pre-draft moves.
That about sums it up. ;-)

I dont think we need to splurge on a expensive receiver. I think Britt will be a star soon enough

Just focus on Defense...
Since VY was put in as starter the Offense avg. 27 pts a game.
Taylor Mays > Eric Berry
I think you forgot about Julius Peppers.
If the Panthers don’t franchise him again this season he could be on his way out. And with their money issues I can see why they won’t.

I had said this earlier when his name was mentioned in a different post.
But with the right moves. I think he would come to Tennessee

peppers makes more money than albert haynesworth
in fact, more than any other player in the NFL this year. ain’t happening, nor should it at his price.
The Dual Threat, Official Enforcer/Stat Geek of MCM.
Pepper is exaclty what the team needs
but I don’t think there is any way it is going to happen. The money is there, we don’t pay one person on defense like they are a franchise player. See if he will take whatever we offered Albert.
I don't know about that
Peppers could play LB in a 3-4 I just think he to big to play LB in a 4-3. He deffinatley would be a welcomed addition, but teams were alredy lined up to get him this past offseason the,but Panthers price was just to high. I expect him to go not that long after midnight the first night of freeagency. Oh and I’m not to fond of you either Nathan!
AGRIFF
Jason Cambell
First off I have NO INTENTIONS OF MAKING HIM A STARTER, but I think Collins will retire and I think that Cambell would be a good veteran backup with game experiance. Travarius Jackson could too.
AGRIFF
Kerry already said he didn’t want to retire so unless Fisher hates Kerry we’re sol on this one. But you’ll live through the name calling Griff.

Some interesting names in there
dummerville is a sack machine for Denver even though he is a bit undersized.
Veteran corner please
No rookie corner, this may be the best free agent corner market ever depending on the CBA. Maybe no Champ Bailey, but solid options to pair with Finnegan. Fisher loves the Colts, I could definitely see the Marlin Jackson thing going down, I hope for Dunta or Carlos Rogers though. Defensive end will be the tough spot to fill, Merriman hates the Titans and Peppers wants to be paid like Haynesworth. After that there is a huge dropoff. None of the college guys (DE’s) tore it up this year, which makes me think they won’t be great NFL pass rushers. I think Pennington would be a great mentor for VY as backup QB. Bring back Bulluck! Hope is my new Harper, can’t wait to see him go.
Suh??

Even if it wont happen, ONE splash would be nice
Bringing in Dummerville or Marshall would be HUGE. Marshall is probably the better at his position, but locking up some younger blood at DE is a larger priority.
If we’re talking realistically, of the big free agents, the titans are likely to target CB, then DE, then WR. They can get the CBs available for a much lower price the the top line DEs and WRs. And I agree, no rookie corners. Rather take my chance with a lineman.
I used to be a Longhorn fan turned Titan when Vince Young went Pro.
I'm now a Titans fan with Longhorn tendencies. GO TITANS!!!
Don't be Washington!
We deffinetly need some big freeagent pick ups but lets not turn into the Redskins. They dish out tons of cash each year for good players only to field a below .500 team. New England needs to be our example. they look at the weaknesses that held them back in 2006 and in the 2007 offseason went out and got Moss, Welker, and Thomas. We need to fill in key gaps and open the pocket book just a little. Lets get this in one offseason not every single one.
AGRIFF
Our biggest need is....
our secondary (GOT TO GET THIS FIXED) tired of seeing NFL QB’s going after our biggest weakness with frequent success!! Next…special teams (MAINLY OUR RETURN GAME) it would be sooooo nice to give our offense some decent field position!! Next…linebackers (TOO MANY QUESTION MARKS HERE) And lastly…DL’s (I LIKE OUR GUYS…BUT WE NEED 1 MORE PASS RUSHER)
