South Florida’s Jason Pierre-Paul only has one season of Division I experience after transferring in from the JUCO ranks but he wasted no time asserting himself as one of the country’s most feared pass rushers and a top pro prospect. An amazing athlete with rare burst and explosiveness, Pierre-Paul checks in at 6-6 and 260 pounds, has extremely long arms and reportedly runs a 4.6 forty. Although still very raw there is simply no denying Pierre-Paul’s natural talent and unlimited upside, which is why he could ultimately carry a grade similar to that of Aaron Maybin last year. In fact, there is a good chance Pierre-Paul will be long gone by this point, perhaps even in the Top 10 overall. If "JPP" is still around in the middle of round one the Titans would have to seriously consider taking a flyer on the underdeveloped pass rusher, much like they did with Kearse back in 1999.
Not sure how I feel about this guy for the Titans. They obviously really need a pass rusher, but the word "underdeveloped" really scares me. The Titans need an impact player in 2010 from this pick.

Eh. Another developmental guy scares me.
But, if there’s anyone that can teach someone with raw talent, it’s Jim Washburn. If we’re going the developmental route, D-Line would be the position I’d be most comfortable with.
A pick like this wouldn’t surprise me. This Front Office seems to love the guys with off the charts tangibles that they can coach up. See, Chris Henry, Jared Cook, Jason Jones, etc.
And how many of those guys have worked out?
I mean the jury is still out on Jones and Cook. The problem is they can’t afford to wait 1-3 years for a guy to get good, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

"What if I was Peyton Manning?"- CJ to the ref after they picked up a personal foul flag for a late hit on him.
I think you're right, but William Hayes is looking good
and Jones is a stud, it’s just unfortunate that you can’t coach health. That said, I completely agree that we need someone who can be very good now over someone who could be great in a few years.

How was drafting Jevon Kearse in the first round...
…“taking a flyer on a guy”? Kearse was an extremely productive college player from a HUGE big-name school. There was every reason in the world to expect he’d succeed. This guy is totally different

Like everyone else...
the under developed statement has me nervous about this kid, but I do like all hte Kearse comparisons he’s been getting. If Morgan or Dunlap are available I’d rather seen them in a Titans jersey, but if they are off the board when we pick I wouldn’t be heart broken if they took a chance on Pierre-Paul.
agreed
unless they take a LB (say Sergio Kindle?) there…
