Kenny Britt: where there is smoke, there is fire
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/20/britt-posts-165k-bail-for-friend/
I pretty much shrugged off anything and everything having to do with Kenny Britt and the law up to this point... I was literally ignoring peoples posts saying get a mentor, get your shit straightened out now. I was really thinking wow dudes are really taking this to the next level, getting a bit carried away. Thinking don't make a big deal of nothing.
I don't care what anyone says, this shit is starting to worry me, I don't care who likes or dislikes Florio. In my opinion he is an idiot, but news is news. Fact is fact... If you sleep with dogs you wake up with what?

Yeah I just read this too
very very odd…. and he put up 165k, that’s alot of money for a "" felon friend "" and especially if you are a Rookie!
Honestly
I could give 2 shits what he does with his money… As long as he’s not spending it on people that are gonna help him end up in prison. I would say he’s a big boy, but he’s all of 20-21 years old… Someone needs to get this dudes ear quick. Maybe I’m blowing this out of proportion based on what we’ve been through as fans with certain others. I really don’t wanna see another one of our players go down this road. A franchise can only take so much chaos and so many lost top draft picks and stay around .500 on a consistent basis. I don’t wanna be the new Bengals.

youngest player in the NFL
what did you expect?
but in all seriousness, this guy needs a lesson. bring someone in to talk to him, derrick mason is a free agent this year. who knows, could be a good fit and i hear he wants to finish his career in tennessee or baltimore. lets hope he picks right this time.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again.
This guy gets my vote for the nicest guy on the team. I can’t imagine him doing anything bad.

sorry smash, but that's the marvin harrison defense
I agree that people are overreacting at this point but saying he wouldn’t do anything bad because he seems like a nice guy is oh so flawed. unless of course you were being sarcastic and doing a parody of a colts fan, to which I say very funny.
Do you mind if we dance with your dates?
Kenny
reminds me of a high school kid that has no idea what’s going on, just going with the flow. At least that’s what he seemed like at training camp.

wasn't marvin harrison recently sued for shooting at a man?
it seems so out of character but boom, just like that his image is shattered.
think of it as a scaled down version of tiger woods: great guy until something comes out about a parking issue, then the snowball effect kicks in and before you know it you’re at a sex rehab facility in mississippi.

In Defense....
….Marvin didn’t bring drama to the locker room. He did his job and did it well. In Philly, you get down or lay down. In the Hood (for my caucasion people who don’t understand the mores) there are some people who will test you. Many mistake meekness for weakness. Dude wanted to go there, caught a hot one. For KB, watch those cats……just because you made it out the hood, you owe them nothing. Sucess breeds envy. You can’t be posting bail for the homies every time Jake knock ‘em. Homeboys got Pac Man on the unemployment line. Keep focus Kenny, pay those damn traffic tickets. After OJ, they ain’t playin’ with the bruvaz no mo’. If you got to, stay outta New Jeru for a minute. Get ready for 2010 keep it 100. One Love

Britt:
Albert (Albee) and I are childhood friends and I am no way condoning any of his past actions. There are a number of people that I grew up with who had problems. Myself and others were fortunate enough to find our way. We want to try to help some of the others who have had problems and show them a way to success. I am hoping Albee can be one of those guys

Sounds honest enough
He comes across more mature than most his age, which means he’s listened to and heeded much of the good advice he’s had. I’ve never been to Jersey City, but from general sentiment it seems like a bit of a tough spot. We’ve all had friends with whom we’ve eventually diverged from, but sometimes there’s that long-standing connection that still makes a guy remember old loyalties. Kenny’s now got the means to help, and I think he just jumped into an honest situation that came across with a bad rap.

It's like the time that your sister-in-law got arrested for Drunk Driving.
Is driving drunk wrong, wreckless, and dangerous? Yes. Can you kill someone driving drunk? Yes again. In fact, if your sister-in-law keeps it up, odds are that eventually things are gonna happen that are legitimately BAD. She should not drink, she should not drive, and she definitely should not do them both at the same time.
That said, when she called you from the lock-down, you know darned well that you went down there at 3am with $500 and bailed her out.
Is she gonna suddenly clean up her act? Probably not. Was it, in fact, a good use of your money to bail her out? No.
Would you do it again? Yes. Like it or not, she’s still your wife’s sister.

and say that there is a moderately general assumption by many southerners that a black man bailing another black man out of jail represents an intent to further some sort of criminal activity. Kenny seems like a good person trying to keep his friend from going down the gutter. I remember being 21. It was pretty tumultuous and I didn’t even have 1% of the money he’s trying to deal with. Go Titans!

thank you
This is a ridiculous story. Everybody has already admitted Britt himself did nothing wrong, but then take it upon themselves to give Kenny Britt advice on who his friends should be. It’s really dumb for people who don’t have any idea of who his friends are and what his life was like to tell him who his friends should be and how he should treat them.

We know exactly who his friends are
165k bail tells you exactly who his friends are… Its not about Kenny Britt doing nothing wrong, its about Kenny Britt not eventually ending up in the wrong place at the wrong time. There’s no evil or stupidity involved in being concerned for somebody’s well being.
I have friends just like he has friends, we will always be friends… We can even still have some drinks, they understand I chose a different lifestyle than they did. So there’s a sort of separation. Some people go home at 11pm, some go home at 4am, and some don’t go home at all… In my case it took me taking being a father seriously… I’ve done this type of shit in the past, obviously not for that amount of money… I ended up in a lot of crazy situations in my early 20s do to the choices I made and also choices of friends I made. It could have ended up a lot worse for me. I don’t wanna see it end bad for him.

here's to hoping its just a little bump in the road for KB.

so because he paid for a thug to get out
He has hit a bump in the road?? Where? Plus he says he was trying to help a guy he cared about!! Hello!! That should tell you all you need to know. But its no longer popular to help people its only popular to look out for yourself and thats it. It sounds to me like a mom or girlfriend called Kenny and asked him for the money and help and he ponied up. Lets not forget this guy went to college. He knows what to do and not to do. You guys can do better than this. Worrying about a guy because he bailed someone out of jail. It didn’t say he was riding shotgun on a jewel heist. It didn’t even say he went to a rap concert or night club. Worry about who we are gonna draft next year. Kenny was one of the bright spots this year
