2009 Points of Concern
It's been quite awhile since my last fanpost and I just wanted to say hello to the old school members of the site and tell Jimmy and August that you guys have done a great job getting this community to where it is today.
That being said - I'd love to get some input from the true fans I have heard speak over the years and get some intel from people who actually pay attention. In this initial post I just want to bring up my two biggest concerns.
#1 for me - Nick Harper .... this is going to be the achilles heal of our defense all year long - mark my words. Keep this in mind - only 3 players on the entire roster are older than Harper... Kerry Collins, Kevin Mawae, and Craig Hentrich ... It's one thing to be the grey beard quarterback who makes smart decisions ... its whole new ball game when you have to make precision cuts and keep up with 4.4 speed. Not to mention the fact that Harper's bone spurs have not only held him out of important games, but certainly will not get any better with time. The first preseason games coverage on T.O. ... need I say more - pretty sure he was on the ground both receptions. This is going to be something I hope the coaching staff has discussed at lengths because we are going to need help in this spot. I have seen some upside in Mouton, still a rookie. .. but as far as Faggins and McCourty are concerned - well lets just say who saw Brady Quinn and Anderson look like HOF'ers.... Dare I say I wish we still had Pac? .... if you read that Bullock interview did you see where he was asked who the most athletic player he knew was ??? Definitely caught my attention ... Bringing me to ...
#2 Keith Bulluck's contract - how many times can us Titans fans have our hearts broken? I understand it is a business. I understand that Keith is going to want enough years to where we will inevitably be paying him superstar dollars in declining years ... but this is our rock. If you read Kuharsky's article I'm sure you are familiar with who we have lost over the years ... but let's face it ... Keith is the leader both vocally and on the field. I honestly don't think that we have anyone even close to being ready to fill in his shoes yet. It is imperative that we resign Keith before this turns into an Albert at the pro-bowl type of situation where Redskins execs wine and dine the big dollars ... but only guarantee a few more million than we offer originally. I do not want it to get in the way of the season by any means ... but I would much prefer to nip this thing now before the season is over with a first round loss to the Chargers ... I mean Super bowl victory. SIGN KEITH! NOW!
Hope to hear what you guys think about these two issues and everyone is as excited for this season as I am.
On a different note - I left NYC a few months ago where we had a great Titans meetup group at a place called SIDEBAR ... I now live in Chicago and am looking for some fans to watch the games with .. if anyone is interested please let me know. This year is here!
Go Titans!

Right now....
I’d say:
1.) #2 CB, and depth in the secondary in general.
2.) Return Games.
3.) WR situation.
But there’s still the waiver wire, so the roster might not be completely set just yet.

Bulluck contract....
I love Keith as much as the next guy but I can’t see the Titans being willing to pony up the kind of money he is going to want. He makes the defense go and Lord only know what it will look like without him but KB is going to want to go large since he knows it could be his last big contract. He will be 33 next season though and at that age you just never know when he could hit the wall and be finished.
I hate to say it but depending on the $ and cap ramifications, we might be seeing the last season of KB in Nashville.
If Keith does not sign with the Titans next year
I think he may sign with the Jets or the Giants.

number the 3 and 4 for me are as follows.
3. If jake scott would ever think about doing a geico caveman commercial.
4. How cool would it be if we picked up a back up safety with the first name Doogie then we could have the sweet twosome from my favorite childhood t.v. show with Doogie and Vinnie. Doogie always having a good heart and making all the plays. But Vinnie Fuller always wisecracking and blowing coverages.

I wish that...
We would have done more to bring Eric King back. Schwartz has him in Detroit and while he’s not a replacement for Harper, he added good depth to that position. (He’s not starting for the Lions btw)
I am not sure
we could have done anything to bring King back. He knew he would have a shot to start up there.
