My only question of this is why would we keep Allred over Fowler?

Was wondering that too.
I agree that, to whatever extent possible, they’ll likely try to manage this CB thing via the Practice Squad. But if they actually cut Fowler, well, that’ll be quite a fall for a guy who was a pretty big part of the Defense just a little over a year ago.

Cheaper
more upside? I really don’t know.

Fowler has been terrible this pre-season
and Allred is younger and does a lot more on special teams

Fair enough.
makes sense to me.

Good Prediction...
I’d say that hit it very close. Like you said, there’s going to be some tough calls. But, I don’t know if they put Fowler to the squad be Allred.
Tough decisions to be made
I see Larry Birdine making it but at the expense of who, I don’t know.

He has been making plays
but I just don’t see where he fits. They aren’t cutting any of the 5 DEs listed, and I can’t see them cutting 6.

I'm starting to think that L. Hawkins could get cut.

I agree that he could
The problem is they need bodies there. Now if there is a receiver out there they like, he is the first to go IMO.

Isn't it possible..
That they may just look to Mark Jones to fill Hawks spot, and just keep 5 WRs. Like if they decide to go with 3 QBs.
I'd prefer 3 QBs than keeping Hawk and 6 WRs
Have we ever gone 5 wide before?

Even if they did go 5 wide...
…they’d have CJ and Scaife or Cook in at least two of the spots.

I doubt Jones makes it if they keep 3 QBs.
If they do that, I look at Ringer as the most likely Returner.

Ouch!
Bet he was surprised! After last night, I though for sure that he’d kept his job.

Yeah, so did I..
Surely to hell, they’re not really going to chance putting Britt out there to return punts. How stupid would that be. Not that he wouldn’t be great doing it, but he’s too important to us.
nah
you’re more likely to se Tuff Harris (if he makes the cut, and I think he will) than Britt back there.

who's the KR now?
without Jones surely they won’t put Britt back….so Ringer maybe??? If they only keep 5 CBs it certainly wouldn’t be Mouton, being short at that spot already….ugh, why didn’t the Titans re-sign Carr?
they wanted Carr
but wouldn’t guarantee him good playing time at CB… I don’t think the Lions offered him any more money than we did.
and I’d say Ringer is the KR, with the PR probably to change during the season…
