Tennessee Titans Morning Links: 0-2 Is Making People Stoooopid Edition
Keith Bulluck must be resigned by any means necessary. While everyone else on this D is whining and hiding out, Bulluck is the one out there saying what needs to be said and setting the bar for these other cats on D to reach-up to.
Oh Florio, after agreeing so briefly yesterday, it's so nice to see you stick your head right back up your rectum and find something even more absurd than usual to proclaim:
And this makes us wonder whether Fisher, who has thrived in relative anonymity since 1994 as head coach of the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Oilers/Tennessee Titans, might finally be reaching the end of the line...
With big names like Bill Cowher, Mike Holmgren, and Mike Shanahan slowly circling in search of the coming coaching carcasses, there's a chance that 80-something owner Bud Adams will decide that the time for a change has come.
Oh. how I hate that man and his irresponsible, illogical speculation.
Point number two that's pissing me off today: it appears that nobody on the Texans got fined or suspended for the skirmish on Sunday, despite the fact that even Texans fans say punches being thrown by their boys.
Follow us through the jump to find out what Titan is getting hammered for washing his hair...
Congratulations to Tennessean.com commenters for convincing themselves that Michael Griffin's shaky play this season is because he washes his dreads. That's genius.
Chuck Cecil isn't deaf, and he is hearing the chatter around town that his head will be on a populist platter if we lose Sunday despite the fact that he isn't out there getting burned by play-fakes and screwing up transitions in the secondary.
The Jets defense has looked good so far, but I still contend we don't know how they'll hold-up against a team that can really run. That being said, it's looking a lot more like the Ravens' D than I thought it would this early.

It's nice to see that Florio writes something that allows normalcy to reign.
What a douchecanoe.
Does anyone have a link to the interview that Channel 5 ran?

The interview that has Coach all pissed off.
The one that they falsely claimed was about Givens.

I think he is referring
to the one Channel 5 ran from training camp with Fisher while acting like it was a comment to the Givens story.

I assume the interview
where the cheesedick assclown Channel 5 made it look like Fish was talking about Givens even after he learned the lawsuit was filed, when in reality Coach gave that interview during training camp.
Thanks to shady journalism, Channel 5 made it look like Fisher was commenting on the situation with Givens very recently, when in fact he did not.

Yes, that one
that is why I was so shocked at how Florio acted.
Like Fisher shouldn’t be extremely pissed off at how they misrepresented his comments.

you mean Flroio probably made outlandish comments after only hearing half the story?
I’m shocked.

The thing that really pisses me off about Florio
Is how people take these comments seriously. Half the commenters were things like “WE SHOULD GET FISHER AFTER DA BEARS OUST LOVIE SMITH!!!!” Come on. And also “toiling in relative anonimity?” WE MADE A SUPER BOWL!!! Almost everybody lists him in their top 5 coaches in the NFL! I don’t know one person who doesn’t know and/or respect Jeff Fisher. I’m not saying he is a media darling, but everybody knows and respects him.

It looks like Channel 5 has taken it down.
They now have a note at the end of their article about the lawsuit, stating that the comments from Fisher were from training camp and that they “regret if anyone was misled.”
“we regret” is not the same thing as “we apologize.”
Not that I spend a lot of time watching local news, but I think I may have to switch channels now.

re: Griffin's hair
What is it with football players’ hair this year? There’s a whole series of ads about Troy Polamalu.
Also, do you think Griffin meant Chris Johnson when he talked about “some people don’t wash their dreads, and you can tell because they stink?”
‘cuz, I’m just sayin’, CJ’s hair looks… unwashed (to put it mildly).

Coaches bear some of that responsibility, though. You can coach discipline. But, it’s becoming more apparent that some of the issues are scheme related. Schwartz had the luxury of having Albert up front. And, he was smart enough to cash his ticket at the right time…right after Albert left.
Back to the point though, any defensive back is going to get burned eventually if you give the quarterback enough time. Our front four isn’t talented enough to get pressure consistently on their own. We’ve got to start bringing extra blitzers.
by SuperHorn on Sep 24, 2009 9:46 AM CDT reply actions 0 recs
thats right
we can’t let quarterbacks stand in the pocket and give pump fakes all day long. we need to start bringing the blitz. our db’s will make plays if the opposing qb has to make a quick decision. this isn’t the same dline without fat albert and we need to adjust accordingly.

agreed, the pressure is what made our secondary looked good last year, and its the lack of creating pressure thats making them look so bad. any unit would look bad when qbs have all day to pass. its time to admit without al we need to occassionally blitz

Johnson's hair does look bad, I mean why would you want to look like that?
The guy is a stud, no doubt, but come on – cut the mop off. He would be even more aerodynamic if he did a buzz cut.

it doesn't look that bad when he hasn't been wearing a helmet
but he definitely needs to get it rolled more often, that’s why it looks so rough at the roots.
Still, afro >>>>>>> dreads. That’s just science.

Who knew August knew so much about dreds?
Maybe that should be the main topic on the next MCM Radio.

In my younger days
I had a natural afro and went to music festivals, so I’m no stranger to dreadie kids (although I have a severe distaste, to put it nicely, for white men of any age with dreadlocks… that shit looks ridiculous).

White guy with dreads
Is either a Trustifarian angry with daddy, or
a guy like Gary Oldman in ‘True Romance’.

You are schooled in the ways of dreadlocks ! Post an old time pic if you have one.
Maybe Johnson doesn’t wash to offend the competition. If he smells like a skunk they will naturally stay away. Hence the 300 yard game! Or maybe it is his fabulous talent.
