Jason Jones has been fined $5,000 by the NFL for the "punch" he threw in Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. He is the only player to be fined so far.
This is such a joke. I still can't understand how nothing is done to Andre Johnson who started the whole thing by throwing Cortland Finnegan off the field by his facemask. Not only should Johnson have been penalized, which he wasn't, but he should be fined for starting the whole fracas.

Punches
Anyone notice how many Texans players threw punches after seeing the replay? I saw at least 2 and I’ve only watched it once. I did not see Jones’ throw but I cannot believe he was the onlu one ejected. If he is the only one fined there’s a serious problem…

Well, the league has the ref’s backs, regardless of the quality of the calls. How does anyone with halfway decent eyesight come to the conclusion that Jones was the only person to throw a punch?

Finnegan CLIMBING on Johnson’s back and over his head. Finnegan taking cheap shots at AJ all afternoon. Finnegan obviously did some things to get under Andre Johnsons skin. AJ NEVER jaws, NEVER end zone dances, NEVER gets personal…he is a class act all around. The league has even pointed him out as en axample of how other players should behave.
Finnegan did something to get him that wound up. Good for Finnegan, you got under his skin. In doing so, you better be ready for a Texas style ass kicking as well.
So Finnegan actually started the whole thing. AJ simply finished it.
The league has NEVER been shy about reviewing plays and handing out additional fines and suspensions. If they did not, there is a reason.
FFS Fisher is on the competition committee, if something was up, he would be all over it.

So simply finishing something means dragging a guy to the bench and banging his head against it? Yeah, that seems about right. Not to mention that a lot of his teammates jumped in. WAY TO FINISH IT AJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, there will be more fines. It seems that Jones was fined automatically for getting tossed. There will be other fines on Friday.

No, I think if you threw a punch or were doing something unsavory...
….like beating finnegan like your bitch, you SHOULD BE FINED.
HOWEVER….
The League has to make that call. They will have better info on what really happened.
I GAURANTEE that Andre Johnson didn’t just suddenly decide to go MMA on Finnegan. 100% GAURANTEE. Finnegan did something. But with no good angles, it is impossible to tell what happened to precipitate it.
If it was Brian Cushing or Dunta Robinson I would say, sure, that guy could go postal….but Andre Johnson is a different kind of player. For him to kick your ass, something strange had to go on. I don’t because there is no angle. Maybe Finnegan stroked his nads or threw one too many elbows.
Whatever the case, ANYONE throwing a punch should be fined, everyone agrees with that. The question is, what does the league know that we don’t about that fight and why did it start?

Nobody said Andre did anything to Cort while they were on the sideline (although there are many sources saying Texans coaches were throwing punches). But it was in plain sight when he grabbed him by the facemask and threw him to the ground after the play. And it doesn’t matter if Finnegan did anything to make him snap. The fact is that he did snap and should be fined for it, like everybody else in the league.
Christie kicks it high and short...Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25...He dishes it back to Wycheck...He throws it across the field to Dyson...

The only “FACT” here is that neither you, nor I, know all the details. The only thing we do know is that a player who is never involved in fights is suddenly roflstomping finnegan all over the sideline. Why is that? What did Finnegan do provoke that response? It isn’t like Andre was frustrated with the coverage. He was embaressing Finnegan all day long with his receptions.
We will know when the league issues it’s findings and the subsequent fines/suspensions.

A couple of things
AJ did embarass our secondary, but most of it didn’t come against Finnegan.
Also, while we have no idea what Finnegan did or didn’t do to your boy, we do know that his response was dirty. If he was such a great example of composure, he would have just let it go and continued playing the game.

none of andre's big receptions were on finnegan
nice try though. here are the facts:
andre:
1st td (short): nick harper and chris hope
2nd td (long): nick harper and michael griffin
jacoby:
the bs td where he didn’t catch the ball: finnegan, but in reality finnegan’s hit kept him from actually making the catch, so it’s hard to blame him when the refs give a td away.
the long, wide open reception in the 4th quarter: nick harper and michael griffin.
i know making things up is convenient and all but, why don’t you try sticking to what actually happened instead of creating something that didn’t?
