Tennessee Titans Morning Links: A Chance For Vince Young To Start? Edition
LenDale White is seeing how big of a benefit his reduced weight can be getting out to the edge and getting up to full speed more quickly. Interesting sidenote: LenDale claims he lost the weight not by changing his diet, but because he stopped drinking alcohol:
"To be honest, it really wasn't a lot of major diet change," he said. "Really watching what I drink. I was a big Patron consumer and that's what it was. I was drinking a lot, I drank a lot of alcohol. I cut that out of my diet all the way, I don't drink at all, I stopped drinking for six months and the weight it just started falling off."
Jonathan Hutton of TitansRadio.com sees a great opportunity for Vince Young and the coaching staff in the extra preseason game we have this year: Give Kerry a week of rest during the meaningless exhibition season and let VY have a start. I doubt they do it, but Hutton does make some very good points here if you'll quit freaking out and just read the post.

'Save the last dance' White might be the worst nickname I've heard in a long, long time. I expect better from the Titans' wittiest quote machine.
Paul K delivers the book on Titans camp from Sunday.
Jevon Kearse is looking to reignite the play that made him 'The Freak' back in 1999. I don't see that happening, but at least his decade in the league has made him a much better run defender and well rounded player.
Javon Ringer is looking to do big things this year, even if it's as the third running back on a roster that's crowded with talent.
Colts writer Chris Steuber takes a look at the Titans' top 10 prospects (a prospect being any player under 25 with 3 or less years of NFL experience).
Albert Haynesworth has already been getting injections on his left knee, which was the same knee that caused him to miss several games down the stretch last season... not a good sign for the Redskins faithful.

The laws of Shadenfreude dictate that I laugh my ass off at that Haynesworth link
So I shall.

Christie kicks it high and short...Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25...He dishes it back to Wycheck...He throws it across the field to Dyson...
Crowd roaring after Suter’s goal tied it up… Preds win the faceoff and Arnott crosses the blueline, slapshot and a SCORE! Arnott blows it by Hasek and the Preds take the lead 4-3…

Saw LenDale downtown Saturday night.
He looks positively skinny compared to the preseason game I went to last year.
He also says he’s “ready to kick some ass” this year.
Give VY....
some time to shine, let him get some reps with the first team offense and at least get an idea of things, but i think it would only benefit him if he’s going against the other teams starting squads on D so he gets the full treatment.
i really hope we can lock up bulluck to a contract that allows him to retire a titan, once again i would get sick to my stomach seeing another great titans player in another uniform, he’s a monster on D and in the upper echelon of LB’s in the league that can track down a runner with the best of them, even Ray Lewis. something i just had to put out there. im liking how our D is looking so far, bringing back almost our whole lineup with the acception of Haynes, but seeing how we looked last year against pitt w/o him and KVB in the lineup put alot of things to ease, can’t wait to see guys flying around to the ball. let’s go titans!
also, can anybody point me in the right direction to where i can go to find out how long each players is signed for, when they become free agents, etc. appreciate it.

I'm all for him playing in pre-season, but...
…it’ll be a hard sell to keep him after this year, and I don’t think he’s got much chance of stealing the glory from KC this year, either. I mean, I would LOVE to see VY shine, but then again, he had a big chance to shine last year vs. the Colts, and he was dreadful.

What other options do we have?
I’m still holding onto hope that VY turns it around this season because I don’t see many options or positive scenarios for our future going forward. KC is good for a season, maybe two but after that where do we go? Hope we find a gem in the draft? I mean correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t see good QB’s growing on trees. I think VY is still our best option.
Honestly, I think if we lose KC and VY we’re in deep sh*t.

Him shining with CJ
only means he doesn’t fumble the handoff. Against the colts i found myself wishing Simms was playing.
I’m fine with him playing in the preaseason though.
