Titans will trade up in the Draft to take next Franchise QB
The Titans will be looking to move up in the draft to take a franchise QB.
I know it's early, but I'm calling it now: The Titans will trade up in the draft to take their next franchise QB. There are many factors that lead me to believe this. They are as follows:
- The Titans have plenty of talent and that will be obvious when the Titans make their final cuts before the season starts. The Titans will be cutting several recent draft picks and will be parting with talent that other teams are sure to pounce on. This will allow the Titans to give up extra picks next year to move up. It will also allow the Titans to possibly give up a high draft pick in the 2011 Draft - possibly even their 1st rounder.
- The Titans have plenty of cap room and this cap room will allow the Titans to sign free agents to help build depth, which will allow the Titans to give up the draft picks needed over the next two years to get a deal done.
- There is a plethera of franchise quality QBs available in the 2010 draft.
- Other than winning rookie of the year, Vince Young has been a total bust and doesn't look like he is going to get any better.
- The Titans are built for a run for the Super Bowl now and that appears to be a 3-4 year window and the only key cog missing is a franchise QB. I think the Titans will try to get one more year out of Kerry (2010) while the new QB develops.

I wanna agree with you
but I highly doubt it’s going to happen. the reality is that the Titans just never make any big moves like that. I’d be pretty happy if we got a stud QB but I doubt that’s going to happen

In 2008
Jacksonville moved up from 26 to 8 in the first round and gave up 2 3rd round picks and a 4th round pick.
It will be a lot easier than you think to move up.

We don't have our second round pick next year
that limits what we can do quite a bit

Hold on there
I am a Titans fan in Tennessee and I have no desire to have McCoy on our team. No desire.

Interesting but....
….if the Titans SB window is 3-4 years and I’m assuming that 2008 would have been year 1 that would only leave 1-2 seasons for that franchise QB from draft day to dismantling of the team due to salary concerns. The window would be so short for this guy and if he failed to lead us to the SB and then the team had to rebuild, he’d be considered a bust.
I’m just not sure there is someone out there who can sit for 2010 behind Kerry and then lead the Titans to the SB in 2011. As many others have said, I’m not sure the Titans have enough to give up to get to one of those QBs. I do think the Titans will try to get a 2nd round pick back and should try to get a QB for the future. I’m just not sure they will move up far enough to get a franchise QB.

We may have enough to give up
Think about it. Most top pick teams have terrible QBs OR terrible running backs or both. We could package LenDale in a trade with that team. He will probably have decent value after this season.
Also, never going to happen, we never make that huge a trade.

LenDale's a free agent
No shot they give him the kind of money he will get on the open market to move him.

VY back to old self and ready to play!
Throughout practice, Scaife managed to slip in between the holes of the zone defense and haul in passes for gains of 15 yards or more. Many of those passes came from quarterback Vince Young, his former teammate at the University of Texas.
"Bo’s having a good camp," Fisher said. "Vince was at the other end of those throws and it’s good to see them hook up again. He’s got his legs under him and has been making plays for us."

gotta have some consistency in games
I’m rooting for him, but he’s got to cut down on the turnovers due to freak out. Argh! Snap is weird! I shall lateral it over through the defenders to the last spot I remembered seeing one of my dudes at!
I believe VY can throw, and be on target, and with some good receivers get to hitting them in stride regularly. I believe he can scramble. It’s the decision making where my faith takes a hit, and good performance in practice isn’t gonna convince me.

The Trade:
Check out this trade to move from say 30 to 8:
Titans trade their 3rd round pick (they should have 2 after compensatory picks), 5th round pick and next year’s 1st round pick. This works perfectly with the trade chart.
Teams are always looking to move out of the Top 10.

But you are correct...
on the number of problems the Texans have
Christie kicks it high and short...Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25...He dishes it back to Wycheck...He throws it across the field to Dyson...
