Tennessee Titans Morning Links: Re-Sign Keith Bulluck NOW Edition
So the big news earlier this week was that Vince Young might get time with the first string guys tomorrow night. Now, Fisher is saying 'maybe not so much'... all of the reports are that VY had his best week at practice in a long, long time, so I'm not completely sure what the impetus was for the change in plan. Another interesting note is that journeyman Tanard Davis will get a crack at the nickleback position since Vincent Fuller is still healing.
Keith Bulluck is still biding his time going into the final year of his contract. If/when they let him walk it'll be the one decision that I won't make a single excuse for or rationalize. I'll just curse and spew venom because KB is one of the steady leaders, great guys and true warriors in this game. Letting him walk over a few million would be insane (this is usually where I'd add that this is just my opinion, but it isn't. I'm right on this one and I have charts to back it up).
Commenter T the D will be happy with this note in yesterday's practice report from Jim Wyatt:
Receiver Dominique Edison had a nice snag on a ball thrown by Vince Young. I’m telling you, Edison is making a move.

Nothing gets VY going like playing back in Texas, where he's still a god in man's clothes. Don't think it's a coincidence that this is the game where they think about letting him see more snaps with the first team...
Here's a superfluous, but still entertaining read on the Titans' brutally chilly Cold Tub.
Kerry Collins has some new toys to throw to this season, and he likey.
The latest Yahoo! team report is out, and whatdaya know: it's mostly about Vince Young's quest to start again. It does contain some good advice from Doug Williams, the first and still only black QB to win the Super Bowl.
[about VY's comments in Esquire on being the next black QB to win the Super Bowl]
"I wish he hadn’t said that because people tend to take whatever you say and twist it and turn it and do whatever," Williams said.
"The good thing about it, the kid has got confidence and I like that about him, but I think there’s something better unsaid. But at the same time, I don’t think the media should take as much from it and try to make it a negative toward Vince Young. That’s the problem I have with it, not that problem that he feels that way."

About VY not playing w/ the 1st team
maybe it’s nothing more than Fisher deciding that KC needs a little more pre-season time at the helm to get fully back into starting form. That would make sense after the TB game.

Thats the feeling I get too
I think Fisher wants to see better overall production from the first stringers that he knows are going to start at the beginning of the year, and thats why they might even play through the 2nd qtr.
Probably due to KC’s weak showing last week and a lackluster running game so far through the preseason.

makes sense
I really hope to see more of vince with first team, though. So far his performance seems so hot/cold, both his preseason game time so far and reports coming from practice. I’m still scratching my head and trying to figure out if he’s really improved this off-season or not.

they way it seemed to me was
If KC gets of to a good start and looks like every thing is clicking THEN VY would hop in…if not ..he would continue to play through the first half

Thanks for the shout out August
I’m ALWAYS right about this kind of stuff :)
From what I saw, Edison has “IT” and it’ll show if you give him a chance. Not saying we’ll see it soon, but a fast break offense with VY, CJ, Cook, Britt, Washington and Edison could turn into something special with a few years of chemistry.
Maybe We Could Call "Healthcare Town Hall Old Guy"
If we could somehow turn the rationale for signing Bulluck to the healthcare debate, we might make some traction :)

If you don't sign Bulluck you are an outright Fascist.
Sounds logical to me.

I don't see why not
We can afford Bulluck. Most of our FA next year are expendable in my eyes like Crumpler, Scaife, Kearse, White (Although I will miss him), Harper and depending on how well Tony Brown does he may not be a for sure resign.
Taylor Mays > Eric Berry
If VY doesn't get snaps with the first offense
he should just use it as motivation and probably an opportunity to play against inferior defense again.
King of the bling come to lay down the evidence//Not George Bush, L-Millz be da president
Resigning Bulluck is a priority, I don't understand why a few million would
stand in the way of that when he has proven his worth to the organization.
As far as VY goes making all the comments about him being the next black q.b. to win a superbowl and a future Hall of Famer , it really is not suprising given all the self promotion he has done in the past. I thought he had matured in the off season, but those comments just reinforce the idea that maybe he hasn’t come as far as I thought.
On an unrelated note, I am officially off of the Brett Favre bandwagon, I enjoyed his play in the past and his work ethic, but to unretire this many times is rediculous and disgusting. I feel Sage Rosenfels was screwed over and was deserving of a shot at starting, but because Brett Favre is Brett Favre he can get off a plane in Minnesota and immediately take over. I apologize for venting that here, but it is crazy.

it's amazing how different VY's comments would have come off
if that sentence had just started with ‘I want’ instead of ‘I will’. i guess some part of me just hopes that’s what he meant.
