Tennessee Titans Morning Links: Big Country's Big Knee Question Edition
David Stewart isn't saying much about his knee other than it's no big deal, but if he isn't back at 100% pretty soon it will be a super-big deal.
Ditto for Jason Jones.
Adam Schefter said on Monday Night Countdown last night that the Titans have talked with Marvin Harrison (No word yet on if Marvin has shot at anyone else in the past few weeks), but Jim Wyatt says that's news to him.
Follow us through the jump to see who is worrying me in camp....
Notes from yesterday's practice session. Memo to LeRoy Harris: You better start getting the snap right or they'll shift you back to guard and get someone who will do it like clockwork in no time.
Oh look, Paul K says not to get too worked-up about Vince Young's big night. Glad you fine readers had to wait until this morning to hear that advice.
Vince Young's performance has lots of people talking.
NFL.com scribe Steve Wyche has a great preview of the Titans' upcoming season.
Jim Wyatt has 5 Things he knows about the Titans this week.

Wouldn't be against Harrison..
….certainly a proven, veteran WR with a grasp on the division – and especially our toughest rival – would be a nice addition. There’s plenty of cap room, and he’d certainly be among our best WRs. If he’s looking for a three-year deal, however, he should probably look elsewhere…..
Harris at Center has always bothered me, and his mis-snaps are waaaay too common. I have a feeling that the Titans will likely follow their tradition of pursuing a veteran starting Center via Free Agency after our Polynesian prince retires, as Center is too important a position for experimenting, and mis-snaps can change a game. Fisher will probably wisely go with a guy via Free Agency – again – who can step right in an anchor the O-Line.
Ringer is looking a like a shoe-in for our long-term #2 back – and he has been impressive!

Old WRs are not now and never have been the answer.
The current crop looks fine to me, and I’d rather keep an extra DT and make do with Jared Cook at WR if circumstances get dire.

Our current crop
is last year’s crop plus Washington, at least until Britt is ready for full-time, prime-time – providing he pans out (and so far he’s had a decent preseason showing).
I see no negatives in a short-term Harrison addition, only positives. That being said, I don’t think it’s likely the Titans bring him in.

Actually, it's not last year's crop.
Justin McSuckins is not there. And with him not there, Coach can’t run him out there every play to drop crucial passes. So that in itself is a HUGE improvement.

I have a hard time believing...
…that adding Marvin harrsion somehow makes this team worse off.

He's just not the same guy that he was.
And he’d take up a roster spot. Whose reps do you give him? And more specifically, which DT or RB do you cut to get to 53-men?

Um.....
….he takes whomever’s roster spot he outplays, and he takes whatever reps his play earns him.
He’s still got surer hands than most folks on the team currently. Though, again, I can’t see his signing happening.

I am not playing him in front of
Gage, Washington or Britt. And therefore he would be the highest paid 4th receiver in the league. Not happening.

With a one-year deal...
….and plenty of cap space, money is an issue off-the-table.
But I agree, not happening.

Re:

Make do? From what I’ve seen, I’m ready for him to start TODAY at the #3/slot spot. Dude catches everything thrown his way. He’s a matchup nightmare. Too quick for LBs, too big for DBs.
Nate hasn’t shown me much yet. As far as I’m concerned, Gage, Britt, and Cook are my guys (if they can learn the system quick enough). Use Washington situationally. We saw a glimpse of what he’s good at in the HOF game with a screen pass. I think the key with him is to get the ball in space.
But, the way this offense is designed, we won’t need his speed very often. IMO, big, possession guys like Britt and Cook are better suited for an offense with Kerry under center.

Cook's talent and play...
…is one of the reasons I’ve been hoping the Titans would take offers for Scaife.
If nothing else, perhaps they can get back the Second Round pick for next year?

I personally hope Favre signs with the Vikes. If for no other reason than it’d make those Vikes vs. Pack games fun.
