Tennessee Titans Morning Links: More Domination, Less Bongo Playing Edition
Vince Young's E:60 interview last night was very compelling stuff. It was a lot less exploitative than the initial releases looked a few months ago. The only sketchy moment in the interview are the assertions by VY and Albert Haynesworth that some part of this situation is the franchise's fault. I just don't see it that way looking in from the outside. There's absolutely no way to tell how McNair's passing will affect this situation though. Jimmy will have more later today.
Titans Training camp opens Friday, and Titansonline.com has all of the information you'll need to get there and what you'll need to bring to have a great time.
The idea that there's a sophomore RB slump gets blown apart by ESPN analysts. The numbers show that most of the best rookie RBs perform the same or better during the second year, and few of those cats had years better than Chris Johnson put up last year. So, expect more domination on the ground this year, just less bongo playing.
Follow us through the jump for training camp info and news from around the league...
When training camp begins Friday it'll give the general public their first real chance to watch this year's rookie class in action. Terry McCormick has a breakdown of what to expect.
Looks like Snoop Dogg may be planning to make it to the Titans-Steelers opening game.
Tony Dungy suggested the Colts as a good location for Mike Vick. Yeah that's a great idea for a team with a rookie head coach and unclear chain of commend among the assistants/consultants.
Marvin Harrison accused of another shooting. Think it's impossible that such a quiet guy could be this crazy? Then read this ESPN the magazine article again. On a related note, how in the hell can ESPN justify running this story about a civil lawsuit with no criminal complaint while completely silencing their employees on Big Ben's situation?
Uncle Rico? Jeff George be thy name...

i thought Vince came off pretty bad in that interview
i still REALLY want him to succeed, its just that he comes off as so dim-witted and sensitive i srsly think he might not be able to pull off being a qb in the NFL.
i fear he is incapable of rising to the challenge
also, that interview had TOO MUCH MOM dewd.

It’s worth noting that he goes on to say that McNair’s death has brought them closer as “an organization, as a team, as a coach, as his quarterback, as leader of his team.” The part you’re referring to was the older piece of the interview. Not that it excuses anything, but it feels like things are getting better between coach and player.
I don't like that Albert is dissing the Titans after the head stomping incident.
He was welcomed back and forgiven for that incredibly dumb move. I have liked Albert for years, but now my view is changing after this.
VY, it is time to move on. I wouldn’t curse the team that is paying me millions to sit on the bench and cash paychecks if I were him. He should put a smile on his face and pretend that nothing is wrong until he gets a shot again. He put himself in this situation by refusing to play when called on. When you are counted on to perform, that is your job, despite the boos and naysayers. It may be real hard to do that in those moments, but that is what separates the true performers from the wannabe athletes.
