So what about trading VY to Denver? They seem to be one of the few teams in the league we've gotten things done with in the past (though that was probably due to the Shanahan/Fisher connection). Would VY command Brandon Marshall and Orton? I think it would be hilarious if Simms returned to Tennessee.
It seems like any Titans trade has a likelihood approaching zero. But I want to see VY in a different area code. An area code where the game plan is a little more improvised. I think everyone wants to see him somewhere else. And if Bud Adams can look good in the process, so much the better (and I think he'd consider himself Mensa if he could add Marshall and draft Colt McCoy next year). On paper, this trade seems to make a lot of sense. What are the opinions of the SB Nation? The timing of this seems critical as Vick is about to be reinstated with a 4 game suspension tacked on.
Any chance it gets done?
Can you think of a better scenario for VY (or Marshall, as I'd like to see Denver fans' reactions too)?

I think that Vince has ZERO trade value right now
getting a fourth round pick for him would be hard right now, so getting Brandon Marshall and Kyle Orton for VY would be the biggest rip off in the history of the NFL IMO.
I don’t think that the Titans have given up on Vince yet. This year is Kerry’s year to see if he can carry us to the Superbowl with his leadership and good decision making, but if he fails again I think the reins will be handed over to VY in 2010

The Titans have given up on Vince
and there is no way Denver would make that deal.

I think you're wrong about the Titans
Mostly because of all the positive things we’re hearing out of the coaches this offseason. Fisher’s comments about Vince last year after “the episode” weren’t exactly positive. They weren’t negative, but it was more of “Vince needs to learn and grow up” kind of statements.
Contrast that to this offseason:
“He’s been here just about every day and he’s having a great offseason. That’s really the only thing that’s important to me. I would expect everyone on our football team to want to start. You need that attitude. I think he may have been led on a little bit in the interview, but I’m not paying attention to it, he knows there is no potential for us to move him and I am not backing down off of what I said at the end of that ball game or the Monday or Tuesday after Jacksonville, Kerry [Collins] is our starter but Vince is eventually going to be our starting quarterback and the quarterback we drafted him to be, period.’’
That kills both topics for the time being…in my eyes at least. And, I know Fish is notorious for coach speak, but he wasn’t exactly supportive of Pacman. Or Billy Volek.
Supporting Vince/calling him your future starter, and diverting a question are two different things. Fisher has clearly said time and time again that Vince will start in the future for the Titans. I believe him.

that all sound good
but the cold hard fact is that vince’s cap number for the 2010 season is 14.2 million dollars. only peyton manning (18.7 mil) and tom brady (14.6 mil) counted more against the cap last season. there is no way in hell the titans are going to pay vince 14 million dollars next season when they will have the option to cut him and save 9+ million on the cap. factor in kerry’s new 2 year deal, and the writing is on the wall for the vince young era in nashville. in fact, the biggest reason he’s still here might be the fact that it would cost more to cut him than it does to keep him.

Not to mention that they brought in a guy who is now the most experienced 3rd string QB in the entire NFL.

God help us.
If Patrick Ramsey is being groomed to be the starter.

I see a restructuring happening
The reality of Vince’s situation is that he needs to restructure his contract, whether it be here or in another city. I don’t think it’s unrealistic to think his contract will get renegotiated so he can stay.
At this point, I think the 14.2 million is meaningless because he can’t get that anywhere.

I agree with SuperHorn
I think he will restructure his contract with us after, or during this season to somewhere in the 6-7 million dollar range, and take over as the starter again eventually. I would believe you Jimmy in your statement that the Titans have given up on Vince, but they didn’t draft one in this years draft nor did they make a serious attempt to trade for someone they think could learn behind Collins such as John Beck in Miami or Brian Brohm in Green Bay. With Kerry only having one or two good years left in him, they are pretty much stuck with Vince for better or worse as the future QB, IMO

Not only is your man crush on Vince weird,
it also makes me uncomfortable.

vince will take the reins if not this year next.
young will get him self together and will wait his turn to lead the titans. but , if collins goes down by injury young will take over and we will see a different qb.

Vince will be UNSTOPPABLE...
…once he finally reaches the CFL.

That is hilarious Danno
VY is going to collect checks this season and that is about it. I hope and pray nothing happens to Collins along the way. The big unknown is how will the Titans do without Fat Albert in the line up? He was a huge loss to the team. He will be sorely missed.
