Medical Examiner Says Steve McNair's Blood-Alcohol Level .16

The Tennessean is running this story with the headline, "McNair's blood-alcohol twice legal limit."  I realize that .08 is the legal limit for driving in this state, but I didn't know it was also the level for sleeping in an apartment.  You learn something new everyday.

In all seriousness, this is a bit of a relief to me.  I have been a little worried that they would find something else in his system that would lead to a litany of columns about McNair and drugs.

Kazemi did have a "small amount" of marijuana in her system, for what that is worth.

is nothing if you aren’t operating heavy machinery. I’ve probably been drunker than that within the past 2 weeks.

Wonder what took the Tennessean so long?

This was being reported on 104.5 on Friday.

Who cares if his Blood Alcohol Level was .16.

It don’t have anything to do with the story. We’re not in prohibition anymore!

Ditto

My biggest fear was that McNair’s image would be further tainted by drug use. That is a huge relief that only alcohol was found in his blood.

It was the 4th of July! Whose blood alcohol level wasn’t .16?!?

The guy was asleep on his couch!

Who cares what his BAC was?

I cant believe everybody is running it this way

ESPN is saying the same thing “His blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit” and then just leaving it at that. I’m sorry, i must have forgotten he was driving anywhere. The only reason to word it like that is to shamelessly try to get hits.

Who doesn't want to be a promiscuous dope fiend?

.16 is totally fine if all you are operating is a couch.

I’m underage and not a big drinker (PAULA fines aren’t cheap) I’ve been drunker than that (a night that inspired this comment)

That's big talk for a little guy,
but I'm walkin' without reply.

Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
