SoCal Titan knows how to keep a starving football fan happy in the desert that is July in the NFL: unveiling the full rankings for Madden '10 (here's the downloadable Excel File)! Here's the EA Sports preview for the AFC South. My first thoughts? You damned skippy Crazy Legs is a 99 in speed and 98 in acceleration. At least they got something right. Meanwhile VY got knocked down all the way to a 68 overall. They also minded the fact that 75% of the AFC's secondary in the Pro Bowl were rocking the flaming thumbtack, and beefed up their ratings accordingly.
The proper paperwork stil hasn't been filed, but Derrick Mason is all set to retire from the Baltimore Ravens... or is he? (h/t to smashville) I lost a lot of respect for D-Mase after his punkish behavior when we played the Ravens, but he was still one of the more underrated talents at the WR position you'll ever see.
Paul K writes about the anomaly that was Derrick Mason: a WR the Titans actually drafted who wasn't a total failure or disappointment and managed to stay healthy. Jessica Bliss writes about Steve McNair's small, quiet final resting place just outside of Mount Olive Mississippi.

A Las Vegas area paper is printing the results of its own investigation into the Pacman Jones strip club shooting from a few years ago since the criminal investigation stalled. Part one of three is on the streets already, and the next two chapters promise to be a doozy, I'm sure.

I'm definitely buying the game when it comes out...
but i’m still unsure of what console to get? PS3 or XBox 360?

I own an XBOX 360
and I prefer it’s gameplay, but the damned thing has broken twice in 7 months. I’d highly advise a PS3 if you can afford the extra scratch. Also, there’s no baseball game worth a damn on the 360 platform.

Uh oh, PS3 - 360 Flame war now
Personally I like the PS3, both have their exclusives which are great. 360s seem to breakdown every couple of years and need to be replaced and microsoft doesn’t seem able to pick out exactly why they keep getting red rings of death.
I hear madden looks better on 360 this year.
And August, MLB The Show on PS3 is the best baseball game on the market.

Kerry is a 78, and Vince a 69
Garbage.
Here’s why: You can’t reproduce savvy, smart QB play in a video game. That’s where Kerry has the edge. He’s just smarter with the ball.
But, physically, Vince is head and shoulders better than Kerry. IMO, that isn’t represented well in the game. I’m fine with Kerry having a higher rating than VY, but I think mid 70’s would have been more accurate for Vince.

But in accuracy and awareness is where Vince also suffers. Overall though, I’d put Vince at 76 or so. 69 is like…. Daid Carr territory.

Does anyone else keep up with CJ’s twitter…i read it .. and every timeI become more and more scared that we might be watching the birth of a T.O. with braids…I love him…I love him running the ball in the end-zone….However his narcissism is sickening and lame..I hope he says these things as a joke and this isnt a reflection of his personality..

i dont want to sound to scathing or close minded here..just in light of the past events of self absorbed NFL talent it scares me…..more so with the tailback of my favorite team who’s talent ceiling is big time.

At least that’s what he’s told the press. That he’s an entertaining guy. I’d use the “stop traffic line myself” and I am horribly out of shape, so I don’t think it means much. He was very quiet last year. I think he’s just having fun with it.
