Derrick Mason Retires
Former Tennessee Titan and current Baltimore Ravens WR Derrick Mason has announced his retirement. This coming from a Ravens fan, I'm sure all Titans fans hold him in high regard even though they won't miss his production as one of the enemy now.
While many Ravens fans are upset that he should have let the team know prior to April's draft, to me this is a classic example of seeing what happened to a good buddy (Steve McNair) can instantly lead to an epiphany about one's mortality and life altering decisions.

wow
didn’t expect that one. D-Mase did a lot to piss-off Titans fans after he became a Raven, but he still did a helluva lot for us back in the day.
Glad to see him going out on his own terms.

good decision on his part
he played through a lot of injuries last year, especially with his shoulder, and hopefully that won’t cause any problems for him in the future. great pro and great person

A Thought
What if he “retired” to force the Ratbird’s to trade him and/or release him so he could come back to Nashville and end it here? Derrick has said himself he is leaving the door open for a comeback and he has not yet filed his retirement papers. Or maybe I’m reading too much into this…

I think
they’d have to release him, but I doubt it anyway. He fought through a lot of injuries last season. Probably he figures, life is short, I’m getting bruised up more each year, I’ve got plenty of cash, time to smell the roses. Hopefully he won’t smell any twenty-year-old-narcissistic-drama-queen roses.

No the real plan is
He’s going to ask for his release and then sign with the vikings and Favre
