White maybe better than CJ this year
I know this is almost blastfamy but I would really not be surprised to see Lendale have a better season this year than CJ. Between what appears to be a very productive off season so far from White in the conditioning area and just seeming to not take things for granted and be genuinely hungry (no pun intended), while CJ seems more interested in running his mouth than running plays. I cant help but think CJ is in for a very rude second season. I hope I am wrong but it wouldnt surprise me.

Wouldn't surprise me.
Don’t forget that Lendale is also in his contract year.

What is a "better year?"
Yards, touchdowns, or both?

I think its a combination
If While has 80% of the yards of CJ last year or say a 1200 yard season to put a number on it, plus 10 + TDs I think he ends up better overall this season. I just dont see CJ doing quite as well as last year while I do see White having a hell of a season. Unless he gets knee capped in the opening game by an angry Steelers fan.

He may have a better season
but I don’t see him getting 1200 yards. CJ, barring injury, still presents a home run threat White will obviously never equal. Plus Johnson catches balls out of the backfield SO much better, so there is that added threat when he is out there defenses have to think about. When Lendale is out there it’s most likely a run or a pass somewhere else, they don’t have to account for him out of the backfield, and the NFL today I think more often than not you need a RB who presents a threat of catching it out of the backfield.

White will be better, but so will CJ
If we look at the 1st half of the playoff game against the Ravens as an example of CJs development during his rookie year, then we can expect him to be even better when the year starts. Lendale is good. Next year he can be great, but CJ is an all star. He can take over a game.

sorry, don't buy it one bit
like theologic said, cj was a rookie last year, and was obviously getting BETTER as the season went on. the way he was torching the ravens before the hit job was simply amazing. plus, they only barely began to use CJ in the passing game last season. he’s gonna be deadly catching the ball out of the back field once he gets more of the offense under his belt. i think they tried to keep it pretty simple for him last year and let his unbelievable talent do all the work. this year i expect them to put more responsibilities on his shoulders and use him in more ways.
my predictions:
CJ has more yards and more tds than last year
LDW has more yards but fewer tds than last year
both get over 1000 yards and around 10 tds, give or take a few

These guys are such different backs, I think it's a mistake to make a direct comparison like this.
They barely play the same position, and when each guy comes in, it’s for a different purpose in the overall scheme. This is why they complement each other so well.
LenDale is better than CJ in two areas: pass-blocking and killing the clock. He will likely continue to be good in both. He will probably also continue to do well in short-yardage, although I think CJ is also good in those situations.

LenDale is the sort of “running back” I think the fullback position is eventually going to evolve to fill the role of.

It's not CJ's talent that worries me
Its his one man band attitude that he has developed after having ONE really good year. Several of you have talked about his ability to catch the ball on screens but every OTA artical that he has been mentioned in this year has been about him dropping passes. Maybe I am just reading too much into him running off at the mouth but comments like this dont leave me very optimistic.

i hope that most of that stuff
is just him trying to bust lendale’s chops a bit. when you have 2 backs with mouths like they do, i think (or at least hope) that it’s all in good fun, and not the first signs of an ego spiraling out of control. i think we all realize at this point that CJ has some ocho in him with the celebrations and all that. definitely something to keep an eye on.
