Peter King's listening skills leave much to be desired
So what has me hacked off about Peter King today? Apparently the guy (who rather obviously hasn't watched a full NFL regular season game that didn't involve Brett Favre since the mid-1990's as best I can tell from his game notes) can't even listen to a sound bite all the way to the end:
1. I think the more Tennessee's Vince Young opens his mouth, the more I'd be scared witless if he was the quarterback of the future of my football team. "I didn't want to play no more,'' Young said -- and he meant forever -- Sunday on ESPN, referring to his dark period early last season when the Titans were worried that he might harm himself when his football career was headed south.
Now, here's what Vince Young actually said when asked about his conversation with Jeff Fisher:
Vince young: "... and I was at the point where I was like, man, I really didn't want to play no more because of the fact that I was that hurt... that I was that hurt from the boos. And all the different things that was going on was just so much for me I didn't want to play no more."
Michael Smith: "At all?"
VY: "At all"
Apparently this is when Peter King quit listening, because here's what was said in the same breath:
Smith: "Like, retire?"
VY: "No, I wouldn't say retire, but at that point in time I didn't feel like playing no more for the rest of the season because of the fact tat there was so much going on..."
Man, if that's how Peter King listens, I'd love to hear him recite quotes from The Big Lebowski. He probably just assumes that The Dude got his rug back at the end.

This kind of reporting is ridiculous
Writers should be responsible for slandering a players names and should get some kind of fine when the unfairly do it IMO
Sorry, I'm a Nube

With your hate of PFT and Peter King today
it’s a hall of fame hate day for you. And as a fellow hater I love it. Peter King mails it in now like no other writer in the NFL. His “tidbits” are just complete retread bullshit you can find anywhere. Pretty much the only mainstream site I enjoy now is The National Football Post.

King, Florio and Hodge
are my triumvirate of hate. They just botch even the simplest of stories. It’s even worse with King because he’s so influential.

Florio now
might become just as influential. Insane. Just insane. Add to that Matt Millen getting job offers from EVERYBODY, and one begins to suspect that the mainstream media might think NFL fans are autistic.

He's the newest addition to the NFLN.
and I think the football gods will show their anger when it will matter most for the network this year…

I don’t know who is the bigger douche? Peter King, Tony Kornhieser, or MErril Hodge. Pretty much any of the talking heads at ESPN give us no respect anyway.

Yeah, I agree about how bad he is at reporting,
some of the stuff he reports on the Jaguars doesnt make any sense.
