heard that snippet on the way home
My reaction was “whateva”. He can grouse all he wants, they’re not cutting him lose this year and as far as seeing the field in this year’s regular season it’s all on him. VY has no room to say jack about jack in my book. He just needs to get his head out of his posterior and in the game.

shut up vince
you earned the bench, now you have to wait for your next chance, wherever it is.

This should
really help his chances for playing time. He will be cut after the season.

Much to do about nothing.
He wants to play and if he doesn’t get to in Tennessee, he’ll look elsewhere. Big overreaction from fans and media once again. Like he’s the first player to ever think that.

I agree its a bit of an overreaction BUT
He should have enough respect that he keeps his mouth shut and not whine about it publicly. Its trite and not only does it do nothing for the team, it does nothing for his standing. Work hard, learn and earn your spot back, that is his job. Not complaining to the media about playing time and possibly changing teams.
now with less meyton panning.

I cant believe this is news
of course he wants to play
I'M DISRESPECTFUL TO DIRT!! CAN YOU SEE THAT I AM SERIOUS?
GET OUT OF MY WAY, ALL OF YOU. THIS IS NO PLACE FOR LOAFERS. JOIN ME OR DIE. CAN YOU DO ANY LESS?

I like the fire
Shows he is going to compete, scratch, and fight and not be content to just watch and earn a paycheck.
His statement is a good sign I think….not to be a disruption…but to say..“i’m all in here…and I’m ready now”
He did earn the bench but I want him to succeed….I hope he continues to mature because it will benefit the Titans.

I am almost always on VYs side, but I have to disagree here
As JasonB said below:
Play me or trade me doesn’t show competitive fire. Saying I’m going to win this job is being competitive.
That pretty much sums it up. Its whiny. Shut up or put up.
now with less meyton panning.

It's news...
because you have a member of the team saying play him or trade him. I get where he is coming from, but that does not make me feel all warm and fuzzy about his commitment to the team.

What Vince doesn’t seem to get is that he controls his own future. Play me or trade me doesn’t show competitive fire. Saying I’m going to win this job is being competitive.
THere’s no doubt in my mind the Titans would LOVE it if Vince Young came into camp and won that starting job. No team wants a guy drafted that high making that much money sitting on the bench. If he shows them that he’s even close to be ready to start again, they’ll start him in a second. It’s all up to him.

Fellas
Where did Vince ask for a trade? He didn’t. All you can take from this is that he’ll be ready for a change if he doesn’t get to play this season. He did not speak about any time table, like, “If they don’t play me this season, I will go somewhere else this season.” I listened to the audio and he didn’t sound remotely threatening.
Again, people are reading WAY too much into what he says just for the sake of criticizing him, presumptively inserting “play me or trade me” when neither his words or his tone indicate such a claim. I’m amazed this is even news. If he doesn’t get to play, he’ll look for a career change (which will most certainly come since the Titans would most likely release him next season), even though he’s loved it at Tennessee. That’s it. Nothing earth-shattering about it.
Furthermore, Titans fan seem to love doing a bit of revisionist history, implying Fisher yanked Vince Young due to losing rather than Vince losing his job because of injury and they kept winning with Collins. It’s happened in the NFL before to many players, and that’s the way the league works. Of course, since VY is not Tom Brady, he has to earn his job back, but he didn’t “earn” the bench as if Fisher unilaterally took him out.

Who said he was yanked because we were losing?
I don’t remember anyone saying that at all.

It's implied in that he "earned" the bench
I’ve never heard a player “earn” the bench because he injured his MCL.

Gotcha. I see that.
