Jeff Fisher, you are my hero... here's his response to inquiries about the curious Alex Mortensen signing:
"I was kind of hoping Chris Berman had a son,'' Fisher said, "but he has all daughters.''
Welcome to the NFL, rookies.
It's funny how life works... guess who Jared Cook watched and emulated as a kid growing up in Atlanta? Alge Crumpler. And now he's kind of expected to take his job... also, Terry McCormick has a good read about the comparisons Cook has drawn to previous Mike Heimerdinger WRs and TEs.
The Titans didn't draft Kenny Britt to be a sideline project, they esxpect him to contribute right away, and this Yahoo! Team Report has some insight on why Britt may succeed where so many have failed before.
Gary Estwick unearths a funny story of what may have been for the career of Vince Young:
LAST week, I talked to Duane Akina, assistant head coach/defensive backs for the Texas Longhorns. He coached Titans defensive coordinator Chuck Cecil at Arizona... Akina shared a funny story about Vince Young's recruitment out of high school.
Young was playing in the Texas high school state playoffs. Akina was at one of his games. Late in the fourth quarter, with his team leading, Young came on the field on defense, playing free safety... Akina liked what he saw so much that he told Texas Coach Mack Brown, hoping to get Young in his secondary the following fall, instead of at quarterback for the Longhorns.
Brown's reply via text: "Don’t even think about it."
Always covered-up commenter joshuaboone comes through with a rather sorrid tale of paking lot urination and indecent exposure starring former Titan (and current Saints) WR Biren Ealy.
