Chuck Cecil’s helmet had a thick padding that fits on a helmet’s shell to reduce the risk of receiving a concussion and reducing the risk of injury to opponents due to helmet-first hits, for which Chuck Cecil was fined numerous times.

Researching him, another interesting fact I found about him was that he had the Pac-10 record for interceptions in a season (21) until Lamont Thompson broke the record (24).

He looks mean. I have and aunt, yes and aunt, who was a vicious drunk. She would headbutt you right out of your chair if you weren’t paying attention. One minute you’re sitting around drinking, having fun…the next she’d get this look in her eye. When she got that look, I’d just go to bed. It was either that or be put to bed right there on the kitchen floor, by a woman. So, for me, it was bed time.
