Tennessee Titans Morning Links: A Rey-Rey Of Our Own? Edition
How hard did the TItans work to sign Albert Haynesworth? That's the question Terry McCormick asks, and the answer is a mixed bag. The Titans' finally offer was in the neighborhood of $40 million over 4 years with $28 million of that being guaranteed. That's really not far off in total money from the real value of the Redskins' offer, which was 4 years and $48 million, though the Redskins ponied up $41 million in guarantees.
The members of this year's Titans Caravan have been announced, and it will feature a mix of Boom King, Stephen Tulloch, announcer Mike Keith, and T-Rac at various points.
USC middle linebacker Rey Maualuga is scheduled to visit the Titans soon. MLB has been a devalued position in our scheme, but if Rey slides all the way to 30 I think we could adjust some things to make room for a player of his caliber. I could deal with having a Rey-Rey of our own!
Yahoo! has a new mock draft from Russ Lande, and I definitely approve of his pick and the NFL comparison is better than any other one I've seen:
30. Tennessee Titans: Percy Harvin, WR, Florida
NFL comparison: Steve Smith, Panthers. Harvin is a bit raw, but possesses the same dynamic open-field running ability. Like a young Smith, he has the pure talent to change games as both a receiver and return specialist.
New Bears OT Orlando Pace is pushing the team to sign Torry Holt, but no visit has been announced as of yet.
Todd McShay and the Scouts Inc. staff at ESPN have a great new chart (Insider subscription required) that breaks down the first few rounds of draft prospects into tiers, rather than trying to match them to a team.
Can't view that chart because you don't have an Insider subscription? Don't fret, all are welcome to play around with their new Mock Draft Machine. Just drag and drop players into team slots and see how your 1st round shakes out.

Rey is the most overrated player in this draft
He’s an idiot- 15 wonderlic score- he overpursues, he’s not that good in coverage. I’ll pass, and I’m glad the titans will too. He’ll never be half of what the murderer from Baltimore is. Let’s get HARVIN and let Keglar mold into a badass!

If you're judging by Wonderlic scores
Harvin had a worse wonderlic score – I believe?

anything that comes out of the combine
which is not reported by the nfl itself has to be taken with a grain of salt. tons of misinformation gets fabricated by overly ambitious “reporters” and their unnamed sources.

I thought Harvin scored a 15 on the Wonderlic
But i know he had pretty much the lowest score. So might have been lower than 15, maybe it was a 12?
now with less meyton panning.

Let Pace and the Bears have Tory Holt
Plaxico Burris would be a better fit here. The state is even working on making it legal to carry guns in bars. He’ll be right at home. hahaha
